View Full Version : The Curse of David (aka my engine is fucked)

David was near my car a couple of weeks ago, and today I found gasoline in my crankcase breather overflow bottle... there's not even supposed to be much oil that gets in there, but gasoline!? WTF!? Obviously, the only logical explaination is "The Curse of David". Don't let him near your car!

Well, I suppose I finally managed to somewhat destroy this engine... over two and a half years and 34,000 miles with the turbo on a stock B18B block, including 20 road course events and countless other abuse (boosting at 14+ psi a few times), but none of that caused any real problems (other than having to replace the head gasket once, which was simple and cheap)... It wasn't until I overrevved the engine to 8500-9200 rpm (redline is 6800) that I finally seem to have broken something in the engine. However, it still runs... it's just a little low on power and the boost level isn't real consistent.

I'd tear it apart and check out the destruction today, but I'm moving soon, so I should probably hold onto my money and keep it able to run under it's own power for at least another month...

Where are you moving to?

Don't know yet... might go somewhere like the Broomfield area, or I might go further north to Loveland. It all depends on where I can find a place that I like...

Yeah, I totally should have tuned those valves not to bend when I rev them 2000 RPM too high. ;)

Well, Loveland might actually be a nice place to live, now that Centerra's almost done.

It was a nice place to live before that. Lots of old people there, but a good mix of college age folks too. The school system up there is drastically underfunded (from what I hear) but overall its a nice "smaller" town. And they have Runza!!!

Wetbacks can de-value any neighborhood or town. It's a talent they're born with.

Don't say that... Weston's going to want to hang out with all the old bitches who don't have teeth.

Weston, if you get a townhome you can't be loud and throw really big parties. Think about it...

I kind of like Loveland myself. Not TOO far from Denver, but close to places like Fort Collins. Townhome prices aren't bad either. If your at all interested in buying Weston there are brand new townhomes in my neighborhood that are very large and very affordable. My buddy just bought one and said they are the best overall deal in town.(2-3 BR, 2BA, 2 car garage)
