Why is it that everyone says nitrous is bad for my motor? I have not experienced any problems yet. How is it harder on a motor than boosting?

If the nitrous setup is done right.... then you shouldn't have a problem.

It also depends on how greedy you are! Some kids throw a bottle on (75 shot) and are constantly spraying..... which usually ends up bad!

Go with FI and a reputably tuner and you're golden as well.

It's all about how the setup is and who's using such system.

But why can a turbo put out 75 hp, and no problems, and a 75 shot on the bottle and you have problems? On a turbo with 75 hp you have problems?

Here (http://www.turbomx5.com/nitro1.htm), read this!

If you tune it right and use it only when you need to not just to show off you'll be fine. You can also coat the cylinder domes and pistons and be even safer.

If the kit is installed correctly, and you use safety devices (RPM switch for example) you should be good to go. The only downside is having to refill your bottle over and over and over and over and over and over.

I blew up my supra motor (http://jsalmi.com/kaboom/) w/a 100 shot, engaging the nitrous a couple thousand RPM too early in 4th gear. If I'd have had an simple RPM switch, well, you know.... :)

It's all in the tune, and nitrous is an "instant on" power adder whereas a turbo comes on 'gradually' in comparison. Dry kits rely on the stock injectors & some type of fuel pressure riser in order to provide enough fuel, which is why a wet kit (IMNHSO) is always a better option.

But why can a turbo put out 75 hp, and no problems, and a 75 shot on the bottle and you have problems? On a turbo with 75 hp you have problems?

Yeah, it did, but during the rebuild I got to create a monster. :)

That's what I did too. I figured if aftermarket parts are about the same price as oem I might as well get the best parts I can. So that's how my monster came about. Did hurt that the shop I used helped out too!

Thanks slow96gsr, that cleared things up a bit. I have a safc2 and run it a bit rich with my wet kit. So far i've beaten a 98 z24 cavalier, and a 89 probe turbo. It was accually a tight race with the probe. he has the same size motor 2.2 sohc thats in my accord.
