On a Neon I'd say 2 psi.

just about any motor can take 10lbs from an average sized turbo, with a good tune.... but you gotta remember 10#'s on a little T3 is a lot different then 10#'s on a big t3/t4.

Stock the Neon can take between 6 and 8 psi for a decent amount of time from a moderate turbo (most common turbo on a stock block Neon is a 16g). I wouldnt' go much higher than that. There have been freak Neons which handle upwards of 12psi for extended periods, and there have been some that self destruct with 6psi. Depends on the condition of your motor and how well you can tune. You will blow it up eventually. IMHO save the money and do it right. Build the engine, and get a good turbo setup...

BTW, '98 R/T's have a 2.0L DOHC engine. Neons have never come with a 2.2L SOHC, and '98 R/T's never came with a SOHC of any size. :online:

Cheapest method is to buy an SRT4 turbo and bolt it up. If you are really SOHC, they sell adaptors.

If you are SOHC you don't have an RT, FWIW. Also its a good bet that people who don't know the size of their engine nor what model their car is, will blow it up within a few miles after turbocharging it.

I wouldn't go turbo if I were you.
