I caught a red '90 Talon TSI over on Santa Fe at a light on Saturday night and of course he revved on me so it was on.
I had a hunch I didn't need to hard launch it so I let him have a solid car length lead and as I got into second I really pulled on him and then I hear a loud "pop" and immediatly I pull several car lenghts in front as I hear another "pop" as he shifts. I stop at the next light and he pulls up and I say "Boy,fuel cut must suck" and he kinda gave me a dirty look but his girlfriend smiled nice at me and that was all worth the gas.:)

He means premature fuel cut, it's a problem on modded DSMs.

A fair amount of Modded DSMs hit fuel cut under 6000rpm on the stock MAS,mine doesn't hit it at all...so far.

there is no better feeling than beating a guy who is acting cocky when he has his G/F in the car.....

I had spikes upwards of 20psi with the small 16G and managed to miss the fuel cut experience all together. I ran ~16psi most of the time.

I did some test runs at 17psi on my 18g and it still pulled nicely all the way tp 7000rpm.
I do need the new injectors very soon.

Wow, you have really got to be pushing the limits of fuel cut, or have you already taken measures to prevent that?
EDIT: I just read your previous post. You are lucky.
It's a little strange how some ecu's are more friendly to fuel cut points than others.
Luckily, it's an easy obstacle to over comer once you reach that point.

The only mods to the MAF were the lower honeycomb removal and the screw backed flush. (DSMers know what I'm talking about)
I've been running 16-17 psi for over 5 years now and am finally gonna do my fuel pump and re-wire upgrade along with the 550s. I can't wait to feel 20psi and hopefully below mid 13s. ( 1/4 mile "kiss of death")
My best was a 13.99@96mph on my 16g@16psi.

You ran 16 psi with your 16g on the stock fuel system? I was wondering how high i can do it with my B16g, right now im running 14lbs.
I need new lifters to get rid of my phantom knock before i rewire and turn it up.

I'm running 16psi on my 18g with the stock fuel system and it's been fine but I can't keep stretching my luck anymore now that I have the bigger turbo.

fuel cut sucks!
I hit fuel cut on colder days, I am running 16psi on a 16g
I seem to hit fuel cut somewhere in the 4-5k rpm range in 1st gear only. Paul has experienced My fuel cut problem.
I want to buy a 2nd gen maf sometime soon.
I also have had a bit of stuttering on the high end on hotter days.

I know your car too well, especially now that you have those awesome wheels on it.
Maybe if I do some crack I might be dumb enough to hurt my clutch trying.:smashfrea
