Im looking inot boosting an RS integra, i know i know, "Why boost the RS instead of the GSR?".... Simply put, because i want to, lol...
Im not looking to make insane power, that and i can get a 95 RS in great shape for a decent price, so...
I can build/find a pretty cheap turbo kit for the B18A/B18B motor, i was just wondering if the $800 is worth it and what kind of WHP/WTQ #'s i can pull out of it on 8-10PSI, like i said... im not looking to make crazy power, maybe like 220-250WHP.

You get what you pay for....
...and for the record, it's "easier" to boost the B1 engine than it is to boost the C1.

is the 800 for the car or the turbo kit - please god tell me for the car b/c $800 turbo kits are nuthin but problems
and its great to hear someone doing something because "i want to" instead of because others have done it/told me to/its cool
good luck
Good luck getting 250 with an $800 kit. ;)

Its for the kit, im just estimating how much it would cost me to build the kit myself, also, i found a seller on ebay that builds the kits for a little over $800, i would just need to buy the clamps.
Ive always done things because i wanted to, like when i bought a ford probe and pushed 18psi and a 55shot through it, at first everyone told me it was useless, then when it was finnished... they were singin a different song from 10 cars back.

i wouldnt put an $800 kit on my car if you paid me to - but thats me. Sure it might work for a while, till something like a compressor blade flies off and goes to town on your engine, or the wastegate fuckes up and boost goes through the roof!
I know the temptation to buy a cheap kit - ive been down that road, luckily i heard enough horror stories to realize that my car's engine aint worth it.
Seriously i'd check out PeakBoost's kit - for something like $3300 (i think) you'll have a seriously well thought out kit that makes others look like toys.

id say a kit that you put together should be at the least like 1200. dont skimp on parts, itll bite you in the ass later. Whats wrong with boosting the rs? mine will be done in a few weeks.

boost is the shit, now a 800 dollar boost kit. fuk that. save your money up for better parts please. or we'll be seeing a "My $800 Turbo kit's manifold/turbo broke on me) thread here very soon.

get a decent kit and get it tuned then you'll have decent power
VAFC won't cut it honestly
Mario

And a V-AFC is more expensive than a chipped ECU tuned.
Either LS or GSR motors are great for boost, I have seen amazing numbers come from both.
Obviously you feel the RS is inferior.. so you need to research some more man.

I agree with everyone else; you get what you pay for, and an $800 turbo kit will work for a few weeks at best, then explode. But whatever you decide, I wish you luck and yeah!

if the car is worth less than $2k then i would piece together a junkyard turbo kit if i was you but if not then do it right. a junkyard kit will get you about 250 horses depending on the setup, get it tuned whatever you do.

250hp on a junkyard turbo at 8psi on an integra rs....... doubt it.

with a good tune, you can get that out of a d16. b18's have been known to be able to hold up to 10 or 12psi, it is all in the setup and tune.
Mario

Ok... but you don't have any proof to back that up. I know for sure that junkyard setups blow up all the time. Look at myshtern.

i think with a good tune, AS LONG AS IT'A NOT TOO junk yard can make that kind of power, our kit was maxed @ 8psi and we saw 251whp on a stock ls. SERVION TUNED, but that's all last years shit this year all new
UPGRADE,lol.

After I get tuned I'm only expectecting between 350-380. I don't really have the fuel system to boost high enough to get more; my motor can handle it just fine; but there's no way I'd get enough fuel to do that.

Just an FYI, many people make 600+WHP with a stock fuel lines and rail :)

Dun dun dunnnn. Interweb sarcasm strikes again. It's sometimes extremely difficult to tell emotion simply through words; I wasn't upset :) -- I was just dickin around.
What did you have for tuning though?

No problem :) Actually, I was running AEM EMS last year... I had and was running the AEM before I got licensed to tune NepTune, and I didn't switch to NepTune last year because I didn't want to switch 1/2 way through the season. I had it tuned nicely onthe AEM and I didn't want to change it. But This year I'm running NepTune... it is so much nicer in many respects :)
