Building a fast b series just dont seem as fun as building a d series which are slower but still have potential. everyone and there brother is running b series engines. whats the fun in that...

for starters,if I remember right the Z6's are SOHC's, so they can handle quite a high amt. of boost, but if this is your 1st turbo setup then just go with something like a T25 (TD05H) 14b which comes stock on DSM's, an SRT-4 or evo FMIC, 1G DSM BOV/WG, and a set of DSM 450 injectors, not to mention some kind of AFPR, a walbroh 255 pump, and possibly a vortech (or similar) FMU, and an SAFC II... get a mbc, and a turbo timer, a good clutch, decent turbo manifold (I've heard XSpower/SSautochrome is ok but not the best, prolly fine for what you're doing) then get some I/C piping ran and run a 3" dump and you should be pretty oh and for pricing
14b turbo: around 100 bux
srt-4 or evo FMIC:between 100-200bux
1G DSM BOV&WG:around 200 bux
Walbroh:$100-$125 shipped
SAFC 2: $250 shipped
Turbo mani:probably like $150-$400 depending on how nice
I/C piping: go to well respected shop $100 or so
Injectors:around 100 bux
Vortech FMU: around $100
MBC: $5 to make it yourself
ACT or RPS clutch (I suggest one of the 2): around $2-300 bux for nice stg. 2
Doing something that people will respect for your hard work/time/effort, along with being different and not going with the B-series crowd:Priceless
SAVE THE SOHC'S!!!!!!!!!

just so you know, this will be a very responsive setup, and you will definately gain full boost before 3500, just take the weights out of your right shoe ( cuz you all know we've got'em) and keep the boost low around 6-8 psi...a good website to visit would be www.homemadeturbo.com they have a shitload of resourceful info, and I think there are a few CRX's just like yours over there

Boosting a D15A6 is retarded, to say the least. I hope you are referring to what his is *going* to have instead.

i had a T-25 on a D16Z6 on 8lbs, it was good stuff. how ever i would take a turbo B-series over it anyday! and its not just to be cool like everyone else, its because of the reliability of a B-series. the D-series motors are weak and break very easily.
Everyone and their brother is running a b-series because they are better. It's not a fad, it's just smart. If you want to be different and better, get a K-series.

yeah you're right about the D series being weak, but personally If he's in it for just straight line fucking fast then just go with an h23 block/H22A (JDM) head, and boost it, I've seen setups like this on a good tune handle 13psi on stock internals repeatedly. Oh and as for the K-series, Fuck yeah K's are sick

what i would do is drop in the z6 and get a greddy turbo kit for it off ebay brand new for like 1800 bucks and then get it tuned for 200whp which it can handle easily and call it a day...

I have a little different perspective on what he should do, b/c I drive a Probe, I catch shit for even wanting to do anything to my car, but it's being done, and the looks on those people's faces when I go to the track probably won't be smiles and laughs, they might even change their mind and figure out that if it's what you want to do then you might as well have fun with it. oh and turbo D16= right around $2000, N/a B16A1 (Sir II) swap= around $3000 (if done by a shop) so hell I think it's a better deal.

honestly if i had the money i would go k-series but im 18. this is my second car and d-series will fit in my budget the best. i would still go d-series over b-series any day. cuz b-series hondas are gay. if your driving an integra i understand i wouldnt go out of my way to go d-series but d-series owns.
b-series hondas are gay.
Haha. You will never finish your Turbo D16Z6 anyways.
Tell me this since you know so much about Honda motors, which ones are good, which ones are gay etc.
Will you wire your D16Z6 with OBD1 or keep it OBD0? What ECU will you use? If you are going to wire it OBD1 name a couple wires you will have to change. If you are keeping it OBD0 what parts do you have to use from your HF motor?
Stick to fixing your brakes and come talk about how awesome your motor is after you finish it, maybe then people will listen to you.

"Your" the one talking shit about what motors are good and what aren't. I was asking legitimate questions since you seem to know so much about them.

i never said what engine was good or bad i just said i would choose d-series over b-series. thats my personal prefrence. but whatever....
So when you refer to something as "gay" does that mean good? And when you say something "owns" does that mean bad?
Because you referred to one type of motor with one of those and the other with the other. I'd say that is as close as you can get to saying what is good and bad without actually saying the words.
If you are admitting you are gay and that when you refer to something as "gay" it isn't derogotory then I take back my statements.
I'm not sure how you can call something gay (assuming you are not going to admit you are gay) and then admit that you are new to Hondas and don't know much about them. If you don't know much about Honda motors what exactly makes B series motors gay?
If you really want to be cool and different, sell your CRX, get an Integra shell and put a D16 in it. That way you can show everyone how D series "owns". If you just buy a shell you wouldn't be going out of your way to put a D series in it because it is the same amount of work to put either one in anyways.

if i wanted a crx i would have gotten one. so your saying to be cool and diffrent i would have to get a d-series integra. what would that prove. "gay" is just an opinion of something you sound like a teacher or something. because i say something is "gay" dont mean its actually gay and when i say it owns its like saying i like it. owell if you dont like me dont talk to me. and there is no doubt in my mind that my crx will get done but it will take a while making the shitty money i do...

Still Nate likes B's and Quicktimes likes D so do i and a bunch of other people. So many peole like to have large motors like b16,b18,k20,h22 etc...... so we like toi keep things simple and small like the d's. Now with 3000 u make to but a b16 in to a crx you can get a 400 dollar motor, install it. Then turbo it for 1500 and ^ so lets say for 2000 and ^ can have a more powerful motor.(d series) Then can buy some coilovers and a camber kit for 1000. Ok lets see 3000 for a turboed D and lowered, or a n/a b mmmmmmmm ? I think i would take the turbo d. IMO so flame me all you want thats just in IMO.
I think you guys aren't really understanding me, I never once said not to turbo the d16 or that it was a bad motor or a bad idea. You can turbo a D series and be quicker then an NA B series, nobody said you couldn't. A turbo on a D series is a great cheap quick motor.
The only thing I ever brought up was that saying "B series Hondas are gay" is a stupid statement and if you admit that you don't know much about Hondas you probably should't spout stupid shit like that off. It is one thing to try to learn, it is a different thing to talk down about stuff you admit you know nothing about.
EDIT: If it wasn't for B series motors Hondas wouldn't even be popular aside from being the great cars they are. I've seen a stock Sentra turbo and a stock Tiburon turbo, they didn't make the Sentra and Tiburon popular cars.

For goodness sake don't post this thread on Honda-tech.com please.!!!!
First off you want to turbo a d-series motor cause you want it to be fast and because it cheap. Ok we understand that. but like Nate said B-series motor have a really big influence to motorsport. it's not GAY. if B-series motor are gay than your d-series is a transvestite prositute.
