I know the guys who built the the TA, they own the shop where I dyno at and are really great guys. That show was a joke, the guy with the Civic said it was a $30,000 street car that ran 10's, then he cried and sandbagged and tried to play the system when Jeff and his crew actually showed up with a $30,000 street car that ran 10's ($30,000 as in what they could sell it for today, of course it cost much more than that to build, but that Civic didn't cost half that to build and wouldn't sell for $10,000). If I showed up with a nice car like that and they wanted me to race for titles and give a bunch of lengths to a stripped Civic with a stock-block LS/VTEC running way too much boost, I'd have probably laughed at them and left. I think the producers of the show have a responsibility to make sure that the matchups represent cars of similar value and capabilities, at least that's what they say they do on their Web site. Plus the host is a tool.

He sucked at driving anyways, spun tires every time, then wanted slicks then goes and smokes the tires on the launch. Made me happy after the TA won. Asking for 20 lengths then his "team" acts like they accomplished something after he walks away with that one.

Once the TA got the bottle back, it wasn't even close. The big guy with the glasses who was the negotiator is the main guy that I know, he runs a LS1/LT1 performance shop in Durham, NC. I dyno there if I don't feel like driving all the way to a loading dyno.

Sandbagging is when you go slower on purpose so people think you are slower, very useful when negotiating or when trying to hustle somebody.

Example, 2 cars with similar capabilities, you lose the first race by 20+ car lengths on purpose, negotiate 20 car lengths the next race, win the second race, but only by a couple of lengths, negotiate for 10 car lengths, win by 1-2 again, then try for 5 lengths. Usually they have figured out what you are up to at this point, but now you're up 2-1 on the series.

Sandbagging is like throwing the race (or the amount of the win) in order to get more favorable considerations next time.

Example, you are killing someone and lift and then only beat them by 2 cars instead of 10. If nobody knows you lifted then you say, I only won by 2 cars so I'll be nice and give him 4. But, you know you can beat him by more then 4 already.

seriously, this has got to be the lamest show on TV. Racing for pinks should be heads up against somebody you know. Not some nation lottery where you are pitted against a car that runs similar times as you, then you are allowed head starts based on how your first runs went.
