Before you switch you may want to read about the Blue network changes too, I do not know how it effects CO, though. In Socal the blue network towers are leased from T-Mobile and as of may 2006 they are no longer going to be leasing them which means t-mobile will have htem all to themselves and only allow roaming on them which in turn also means it is only limited access for other carriers... Just an FYI... God sometimes I just have too much time on my hands, I think I better stop reading shit at work... Simon if you still want to do a 8125. I cannot believe that the place I was telling you about Fry's offers the 8125 for $350 with new activation and they offer the MDA for $299 with new activations... I love that place...

i can get the 8125 for 314 without activation... but it's locked to cingular... so i might just unlock it and use it on tmobile. still undecided...

That is true only in California. In Colorado, majority of T-mobile's sites are considered co-los (co-locations) meaning they rent space on towers from other companies like Xcel, Verizon, American Tower Company, etc.

As of right now, T-Mobile has one of the smallest coverage areas in Colorado (when compared to the big companies, not the locals). They're growth plans for the next couple years are dwarfed by the other national carriers as well. I think it was Verizon that commited to building 100+ sites a year. T-Mobile has never even come close to that. There best year is 60+ sites per year, and that's what they're looking at for an "unreachable" goal for the next couple years.

They have had 2 way for a couple years now. Still not priced very well though. Verizon also owns 48% or so of the towers in Colorado. That makes them the largest owner by quantity. They then lease out to the other companies.

all the other non nextel PTP (Push to talk) services is not nearly as good as nextel. there is a major lag to connect where nextel is almost instant. different service/technology.

heh, well verizon does have the larger network, but thats including their analogue network..... analogue is teh suck, plus they operate on cdma. Cingular has the largest digital network of all the carriers . My biggest complaint with cingular would be the wait for the customer service, once you finally get through theyre great... but i suppose thats how it is with most cell phone companies. Other than that, with cingular you will get the best digital coverage, you get the gsm network, i think their handsets > verizon. and you get rollover. With T-mobile you get more minutes for your buck but at the cost of coverage.

Verizon wasn't very good in Colorado, I had it, My father had it for a little while as well as my sister, dropped calls constantly especially in Golden and in Thornton... I guess it is just hit or miss no matter where you live, When I lived in Santa Ana, CA. Cingular worked great and T-mobile worked everywhere except my house... The part I hate is that too many of them provide these vague maps that just give you a non-detail map with saying they have coverage all over, I loked t-mobile's map that you can put in your address and it will give you real-time coverage right down to a 1/2 mile radius... great way to show your coverage, When I was a regional manager for Cingular in Central Texas covering Austin, San Antonio and all area cities, their coverage was not so great and the map said it was, in fact their regional map showed great coverage in area's where some of my customers and employees lived and said it sucked ass... It sucked having to lie to people to creat sales and then try to explain to existing customers that map is not always true... But like I said it is hit or miss with any carrier or even every phone, the good thing is, is that you get 14 days to try it out and see if it works for you in your area... except California where we get 30 days...

Personally, I have nothing bad to say about t-mobile. I've been using their service for around a week now and have only once not had signal and that was in the eisenhower tunnel on the way to breck. The internet is quick on this thing and score around 175kbps on the mobile internet speed test. The only issue I have with them is blocking out 821.11g wifi as it seems its the wifi standard around here. I used the registy hack which is supposed to fix the isssue but it wouldn't let me get wifi last night at buffalo wild wings.

DC2: I am on 802.11g right now at work... I also got the Pocket DVD Studio Software and can fit 8 hi-resolution movies on my 2gb MiniSD... the thing is great... So the Hack did not work for you??? Hit me up with a PM to let me know what Hack you did and from where and I can probably help you out...

Velocity: I have been on T-Mobile for over two years now and I am not about to change that, the service as great, customer support is A+, and the phones are getting better... of course with my MDA I have no complaints...

Here is what I changed in the registry..

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\TNETWLN1\PARMS: dot11SupportedRateMask=1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMM\TNETWLN1\PARMS: dot11SupportedRateMaskG=8

I also ran the optimization hacks and enabled the EDGE Icon.

Sigh I love verizon. They're the only company that actually has GOOD service all over the state and in Hawaii. I never have a problem with them dropping calls, I had Tmobile before Verizon and well... let's just say they were less then satisfactory due to them dropping calls like ALL the fucking time. They may have gotten better this was two years ago.... But I will stick with verizon.

You also love wiener, so your opinion holds the same value as a dollar bill that someone wiped their diarrhea-splattered ass with.

Mmm... in terms of call quality, I'll hand it to Verizon that CDMA is definately superior. However, you're absolutely right... over 200 countries on the planet use GSM, and there's MUCH more to choose from in terms of cool, quality handsets on that network. Verizon's handsets = teh suck.
