Well I took Paul/DrJones up on his offer to help me with all my swirls in my clearcoat. All-in-all he spent about 5 hours or so and it turned out VERY good, I think anyway :).

I thought you could bring that sun burnt paint back with a buffer....I could be wrong though:rolleyes:

I was told that it couldn't be brought back because the clearcoat was gone in those spots. Took it to a detail shop one day and they told me that I would be better off painting it. :(

repainting would probably be the best (and most expensive) solution. Though there are 2 others... you could do just a little clear coat over the spots that are missing it (if they aren't to big/numerous) and blend it in with the rest of the car... a teqnique known as 'blending'. It takes a pretty skilled body/detailing shop to do that though (i know one i can ask about costs ifyou want). The other method is simply to remove the rest of the clear coat and get it all down to a 1 stage paint. This would also be a little tricky and time consuming, but not to hard. Once you get all the paint w/o a clear coat it will be relativly smooth looking (and hopefully flaw free). At which point you could put a good protcectant such as Z-3 (zaino product ment to work on cars w/o clear coat.. kind of fills in the job of a clear coat.
