so i almost bought a ridgeline...

....on saturday. $403 on a lease for 36 months. it was a black RT model. we are about 3k upside down on the xterra :(

here was the delema...

pros:
1. new so i wont have to worry about any repairs for about 100k
2. the xterra is getting up there in the miles....95k
3. the payment are the same
4. they are so so nice.
5. the bed is useful


cons:
1. i wont get a new car for another 6 years. (my wife would drive it most of the time)
2. if we really tried, we could have the xterra paid off by summer of next year.
3. id be stuck driving civics/crx/integras until we pay off the ridgeline.....which isnt a bad thing i guess

but you are financing the xterra... and leasing the ridgeline... i would say pay off the xterra... so you have the title...

have you had a lot of problems with the xterra? i know its very depressing being upside down, but at least after the loan period you have something to show... i am all for leasing, but not if you are close to paying the xterra off...

if you want lease a civic for $99 or something... and pay off the xterra.

yeah, but after the 3 year lease id have the option of buying the ridgeline for a little more than 15k.
the only problem i have had with the xterra is that is that i had to replace the muffler. knock on wood

i think we will just try to pay off the xterra so that i could buy a.......s2k or 350z or.....something along those lines next year. but i so want a ridgeline after test driving it. compared to the X, it is such a smooth ride. no body roll compared to the X

I'd buy a new F150 or Tundra, way before I considered the Ridgeline. As long as you don't buy the base model resale value is pretty good with both.

I like how Ridgelines look but for some odd reason I think they are overpriced. Maybe it's just me, but after I drove one the only thing I kept telling myself was "There is just not alot to the Ridgeline, seems like you don't get much for the price tag". My friend thought the same thing after we test drove one a few weeks ago.

There are plenty of better SUVs out there than a Ridgeline, but it is a Honda. My parents got a Honda Pilot a few months ago and that's pretty nice.
