Anyone in the Springs have or know someone with a Viper/Z06?

I have a friend coming to stay with me the weekend of May 10th or maybe the next...he recently had a turbo swap done on his S4. He's pushing close to 400hp right now, untuned. He's not sure if he'll have the new ECU by the time he's up here...but none the less, we were hoping to get some runs against a few vipers and Z06's, anything muscle...and fast. We just want to some film to show off.

He has video of him against a Viper at 4000 feet...and he hung with it, no prob. That was coming from behind him...with no launch.

We'll probably be running at PMI that weekend too...he ran a 13.2 with chip, exhaust, downpipe and a 1.6 60ft...at 3200 feet. So it should be a pretty good show with the turbo upgrade...once he's tuned it'll be around 430-450hp...and after the fuel system is upgraded, closer 480hp.

So any takers for getting filmed against this S4?

there is a guy at my g/f's church that has a viper, but I dont know if he would be up for racing......I did run into a couple supercharged C5's a week or so ago that woudl be willing to play i bet. Or maybe a certain supra owner would like to try him;)

nope...he's the one that asked me to ask...i know there are a good few vipers and Z06's around town. So i figured we'd be able to set up a couple good races while he's here...you want to run him?

Nah, I'm waiting for you to get your new clutch! ;) I'm trying to get him set up to dyno it at ASW. We should definitely meet up when he's in town. You better get some mods for your A4, all these honda and v-dub guys are gunning for you!

I have a feeling you'd walk away from him...especially if the S4 comes untuned, which is what will happen more than likely.

But it *might* still be a good race...you never know what will happend. You gonna be free the weekend of the 10th?

Yup...at 3460 ft he ran a 13.2 @ 108mph (or so) with a 1.8 60ft.
That was on stock turbos, but fully tuned with chip/exhaust/downpipes.

So with the upgraded turbos, untuned...at this altitude, he's hoping for a 12 second run...who knows though, he could end up back at the low 13's untuned. I guess we'll find out that weekend...

are you up for racing Mecham? I see your bday is that weekend too though....

(yeah, my bday is that weekend, I think my gf wants to stay in blackhawk but my goddaughters bday is also on my bday too, so i will more than likely celebrate mine the week before or after, plus it is the weekend for the big car show at the grocery warehouse...so I am still kind of open. Im pretty sure if I tell my gf that there is an S4 for me to whoop up on..errrr race, she'll let it slide. :) )

hehe cool. We'll have to figure out when...since Friday night we'll be headed to PMI to run our cars and Saturday we'll be headed to BroomField to get a dyno run done. But we'll def make time...thanks for volunteering Mecham ;)

The car probably won't be tuned....they company who is doing it is the same company who i go through for my car. He is running the same program as before...just with the bigger turbos, meaning he'll be pushing a bit more power because of it.

Twin K04 turbos, pushing up to 1.4 bar (for now)

Gulp? Gulp? 250 hp stock, maybe 450 now, vs 500+ hp & monster torque?

1.4 bar == approx 20.5 psi. It's not the boost pressure that matters, it's the turbo(s) behind the boost pressure. If they are stockers, the intake charge is starting to heat up nicely at most anything over stock boost. If the aftermarket turbos are happy at 20-22psi, then it may be a different story.

I guess I'm rambling, eh? I'd like to see some video footage of that run. ;)

My best on my old turbo was a 13.99 but I have an 18g now and will be boosting 20psi in about a month so maybe low 13s by then.

High 12s is a tall order for any car up here so I'll be impressed if an S4 runs that.

Yep. At Autosport werks. I consult there once in a while. Its a dynapack dyno. We can do rwd cars too! ;)

The way the audi engines are...the torque usually ends up about 10-14% higher than the HP...like my 220-225hp is about 250-255ft lbs. His engine untuned is supposed to be running around 400hp...and lil higher torque.
I guess we'll find out at that dyno run saturday! :)

The turbos he's using aren't stock...and can feel very comfortable above 1.5 bar...its just too bad he probably won't be tuned to be pushing that. :(
The company who is tuning his ECU right now has their own S4 with pretty much the exact same engine components. (besides some fuel system components, i know...thats a BIG part of it) That car dyno'd around 480hp and 500tq. ;RoCkOn;

It definitely is...and i think its about 50/50 he will run that untuned...more than likely he'll have to wait till he gets the correct program back to hit something that quick.
