I was driving on 285 this evening when a new s4 flys past me. we
got off at wadsworth and went south finally got around traffic and pulled up to a red light. Im in the center lane s4 is to my right and a red si on my left with some rice and white wheels.
light turns green I launched my car for the first time on the new clutch. not to hard I just let it slip from about 50% depression
and immediately put about a car length on the s4 then kept gaining more up to the bottom of 3rd gear at which time I had a significant gain, slowed as he pulls up beside me he hits it from around 30 I hit it a moment later and began pulling on him again
by the top of third I was a couple lengths ahead and let off.
we slow and say whats up next thing we know the riced out honda was flying by us on the left just in time to slam on its brakes for the traffic we had caught up with at this point. we all just laughed and pointed at the dumbass that committed the ricer flybye.
does anyone know what stock s4's run 0-60 and 1320?

6 speed s4's run about a 4.9, 0-60, with a great launch and a 14.2 1/4. Those #'s are for sea level however. Stage 2 s4's get an extra 60 horses and run 13.2 - 13.6's. The fastest s4 currently runs at 11.9!

My brother in law managed a 14.692 @ 92.xx at Bandimere last summer. He was driving well too -- his 60' time was in the 1.9xx range.

His results are consistent with other stock S4s I've seen -- low 90's mph at Bandimere.

Before he learned how to launch the car correctly (i.e., drop the clutch at 5,000 rpm with the gas pedal on the floor), he was turning really poor 60' times and running in the mid 15's.

FWIW,

thats not to bad at all but shouldnt the 14.2 et be a bit lower with a 4.9 0-60? Is this just due to the car losing its ass after 2nd gear?
the s4 I ran last night seemed to have alot of get up at the start but then fell on its face.

The 0-60 i quoted was a little off, stock is more like 5.5 at sealevel. But S4s have a strange power band stock. They are rated for 258 ft/lbs from 1850-4500. Audi creates an artifical torque curve by calculating torque and holding it using timing and throttleposition, hence the reason they are drive-by-wire. So even though you might have your foot at WOT, the thottle body may not be at WOT. This is all remedied with a chip however...
I would guess you ran against a stock s4, A stage 2 s4 pulls very strong in second and third. FWIW
