This was a few weeks ago and I just got around to posting it up.
So I'm cruising the strip through town and I see a friend of mine at the local hangout spot and stop to see what he has been up to. So we are chatting and I turn around to see a nice crowd standing around my FD, A couple guys wanted to see under the hood so I popped it and was standing there chatting, and this guy come up to me is asking what I have done to the car, and then hes like you wanna run? So I come to find out he has a modded C5 i think a 99 or 00 with exhaust, intake, and a few others. So we head out of town with a flagger and a few others and line up. Its finally startign to get a little warmer out so I was hopign that I could get it to hook up a bit better. Flagger drops his arms and I'm at 3,500RPM and ride the clutch out a bit, manage to get the car to hook and get out of hole ok, UNTIL i put the pedal down. Then I just got a nothing but spin. All the while Mr. C5 has about a 1/2 car jump out of the hole. So I lift, got the ass end connecting with the road again, and put it back to floor, whats it do...........nothing but spin again. (I guess it wasn't as warm as I thought ) this time the tach pegs. I finally get it into 2nd accompanied by more spining, and set out to run him down. At this point he is about 1 1/2 cars out on me. I gain through 2 and 3rd finally getting past him just as we shift to 4th where he must have run out of go because I pulled close to another car length on him by the time I hit 120 and shut it down.
