I bought a jdm motor and the expenses keep racking up and up and up, yesterday it was the 80$ knock sensor, today I have to buy a second gen manifold. and the day before that well you get the idea.hopefully this is going to be the last thing I have to buy!
My car will probably be on the road tomorrow.
I know pauls going to say "I told you so" oh well its all in good fun

What was up with the manifold?:confused:
Of course I told you a DSM is a money pit,you've seen mine open up time to time. :eek:
nothing was actually wrong with it . no cracks, its just from the auto version td04 and wont bolt up to my 16g.
I guess its not a bad thing, I have now been forced to upgrade to a 2nd gen manifold.:Beer:
How much bigger is the 2nd gen manifold?
how much better does it flow?

DSMs are money pits.
All the owners like to talk about how they can run 12s with a grand in parts. That's all well and good, but when your repair bills triple that figure they're not such a cheap car to mod anymore.

what year of engine is it? 1g, 2g?
if at all possible go with a 1g mani.
Hoffman, My car is a 92 awd tsi, My engine is a jdm 6 bolt, my intake manifold is a 1st gen, my exhaust manifold is a 2nd gen, I guess my car is heinz 57.
I bought the 2nd gen exhaust manifold because it flows better than the 1st gen exhaust manifold. the 1st gen intake manifold on the other hand flows better than the 2nd gen intake manifold.

You all need to do like me. Find someone to PAY you to write articles about the things you do to your car, which allows you to get those parts cheaper from the manufacturers.

i honestly can't remember the specs on the mani, but the 2g has bigger runners and collector than the 1g. but you probably knew that already.
what kind of car do you have Hoff?

F*ck the 2nd gen manifold. Just call FP and get the Evo for $190 and port it yourself.
It worked for me, and it can work for you. :Beer:
I already bought it here in town. 180 for a 2nd gen manifold brand new. If I ordered the evo 3 Dallas my car would be down longer.
Besides the 2nd gen manifold is already bigger than what I had.

i had a 97 gst for a couple of years, nothing major done to it. i sold it a month ago for a 95 gsx. so know i'm in the process of swapping over all my parts.
so here it gos: all the free mods are taken care of. soldered in the s-afc and jumptronics this weekend. front and rear strut tower bars. hallman mbc. autometer boost/vacuum and egt guages.
as soon as i get some money back from the govt. i'll be calling RRE for the big greddy FMIC. also on the way is a new 3" turbo back. already have the 02 eliminator housing flanged for a 40mm tail external WG. also need to install a denso FP and ADFX AFPR.
i want to set the car up to run a FP green. i had a BIG28 and loved the work robert did on it, so i'm going to stay with FP as far as my turbo selection goes. when ever i have the chance i'll also send in my EPROM to get the DSMLink installed.
other than that, i think most of the people on here know me.......just never got around to signing on til a day ago.

I gotta work tonight but see if you can catch me tomorrow morn. I still won't have my car till next week now,that trailing arm is on backorder and now I'm :mad:.
I guess it won't be so bad since this weekend is suppossed to be snowy.
