Three Wins and I LOST...

Sunday...nice day...was hunting for two wheel prey. :)

I follow a pack to two wheel pray onto Powers.
GSX 600 1 rider
Buell ??? 1 rider
GSX 900 1 rider + 1 pass
WS6 1 driver + 1 pass

We catch the Airport/Powers light. Me left lane...them right lane. I am pumped, I tell my girl to wave bye-bye to them but she chickens out, lol.

Light turns green, I ease it out and they are still back there, one of the motorcycles stalls. :rolleyes: He gets started and is really coming up fast...I drop it in 2nd and take off, ummm...i'd say about 1/2 car length ahead, I got the jump so I immediately get another car length ahead, they are goose it too. :) Top of 2nd, top of 3rd, middle of 4th...they are about 4 car lengths back or so...and I am still pulling away. Yes they were racing...because there were no other cars behind us. All of a sudden, it gets really windy....I look up and I see sky? HOLY SHIT! MY T-TOP FLEW OFF! :eek: I immediately slow down and they zoom right by me. I look back and I dont see it anywhere, it didnt hit any of the riders nor any other car (there were none to hit). The riders motion that something flew out and all of them give me the thumbs up.

The strange thing about it is, I turn right back around and I cant find the t-top anywhere, I spent about 10-15 minuts looking for it.


So....3 WINS and I LOST a T-Top. I think I forgot to lock my side in, plus the windows were all the way down too...

Dude, ALWAYS lock the t-tops! I don't know how many stories like this I've read. I watched someone loose one too one time.

WAHOO! :D I just ordered 1 from a wrecked Trans Am off the Internet for $100! :eek: from OH.

+ $40 for shipping and probably $20 or so for a locks smith to make a key for it...not too bad :cool:

Hopefully it will be in good condition...like they said it was...:PIMP:

Brand new from dealership they range from $350-700 dollars.

I wonder where your top went? Probably smashed to bits when it hit the ground but it's cool you found a replacemetn fairly cheap.:)

I had a friend with an 88 Supra turbo that lost his t-top going about 140 down the interstate. It is a fairly common problem. Good thing my Skylark won't break 100 ( it will, but it hurts the car/motor) or I'd probably lose my entire top!
