View Full Version : Tech and test yesterday. How did everyone do??

So how did everyone run at the test and tune yesterday? I was pretty pleased for my first time running with the supercharger. My first run I ran a 15.14@92.57. The second run I ran a 14.98@93.34 and on my third run I had a terrible 60 foot and I ran a 15.16@93.21......I need to work on my 60 foot times as I think I was launching a bit high and getting terrible wheel hop and lots of spin. It was also pretty hot yesterday I think around 76 or 77 degrees all day. So I am pretty pleased. I acclomplished my goal of hittng a 14 so I am happy. There is only room for imporvement from here...... I know Rico was pretty pleased with his runs too.....I was also impressd by the B20VTEC, nice car Butch! All in all it was a fun day......

first run: .670 light (yuk) 16.33 at 84 mph
second run: .550 light (better) 16.02 at 85.6 mph.
2200 lbs. stock B16-Intake, cold air box, Tanabe Catback.

I heard Bandi limited runs to only 3. :(

i wanted to do more! i am inexperienced at the track.:(
but i managed a 15.55@88.4 mph with terrible reaction(1.03) and 2.43 60' time.. i can do better!!next time!!!
most everyone i met there did pretty good!! it was fun, at least till k20 blew up..i was sad then

thanks for the compliment steve; i worked hard to get her that nice....

my best run of the day was also a 14.9.........9. i agree, there's a lot of improvement left. hopefully i'll hit a 14.5 by the end of the season........:Beer:

what were your 60'times? just wondering cause my trap speed was about the same. do you know how many mph i will loose at altitude?

My 60' were 2.38-2.4 range. Honestly I can't say what you will lose as far as mph. But if it will only run low 16's high 15's you will probably only be in the high 80's to low 90's. When I was N/A I ran a 16.110@88.75, don't know if that helps mcuh. But you get the general idea. My mph were a little down looking at some of Brians time slips. i should be around 96 to 97 mph and lower 14's. I had my tires at 21 psi and I think it was hurting me in the top end. But you will probably run around 90 or so......i didn't see any vw's run yesterday. i was hoping there was going to be soem 1.8t's out there.....

i got a nice sunburn and shitty 60 foot times. but i did do a 13.6 at 107 mph i need to do some more tunning on my sub injectors. and i really like the 14.9 passes with the si's that was coo and milehigsr youll get it soon its all in the launch, well i already told ya ne way cant wait to go out again maybe ill get more than just three runs in

Not to bad for a blown head gasket and just intake. :)

This was against a 00 SI he ran a 17.9 I think he should have ran a better time. :D

well i dont exactly have an si, but the jrsc is going on may 11
as well as some other mods..i dyno'ed my car yesterday and was a little disapointed.. but my target hp used to be 320-350 whp
now i think i need to settle for 300..
i still hope i can find my way to 12 sec timeslips....

I don't know about 12s with the JRSC,I don't think it can be done with the engine's stock internals since you'd have to run serious boost. (15psi :eek: )
I think you should shoot for high 13s and work from there.

Has anybody in the state turned a 13 on a SC'd Honda? Somebody on this board would know plus several people on this board will be going for 13s this year.;RoCkOn;

well the engine i have is not exactly stock!
forged pistons(9to1)shotpeened rods,p&p head,crower valvesprings(10k rpm capable)
but you might be right about the 12 sec possibility,i'm skipping the bs and going straight for 11-12 psi with the jrsc..
my car isnt tuned right yet as of late(161 whp-120tq)and still lean with 310 rc injectors..and still pulled a 15.5 with late reaction time..(1.03)should be a high 14 if i learn to drive right..
so,the test is,if i can put 11-12 psi to the motor AND tune it right,i should see high 12's...if not,then i might scrap the sc and go with turbo sometime next year...
all i ask------ wish me luck( i may need it);)

i wanst planning to do the sc this soon,but i think i'm addicted and want to make the 12 sec a reality..
besides. so many people i talk to say(dream on)
i want to at least make the best effort to make it happen..

Your reaction time doesnt have anything to do with your E.T. You can have a 2 min reaction time if the track allows it to go on like that and still run a 15.5. The E.T. doesnt start untill you pull off the line, and thats the same time your R.T. stops.

i'm not looking to beat anyone,i just want to own a 12 sec car..
and since i work on hondas, that seemed the only place to be..
i hope that if i do pull this off,you'll be there to see it!!
at least i'll have the satisfaction of knowing that i can accomplish what i set out to do...i'm not saying you or anyone else is wrong about the sc. but i just have this feeling that it is all i need..if not?then i go turbo,it would be the only soloution(and you would be right about needing 15 psi or more)but i gotta try!! thanx for the good wishes. i appreciate that!!;RoCkOn; :Beer:
