about a month ago I bought a jdm 4g63 cyclone from ard performance. Well to make a long story short I paid these people 1800 for the engine shipped from California to Denver.
I ordered the engine on a Friday I called them the following Tuesday to get a tracking # in order to set up for USF Reddaway to deliver the engine. They informed me that they failed to ship my engine, I Replied "well why not, I paid for it?".
They apoligized and promised to ship it right away.
Before agreeing to buy the engine I asked them very specific questions about the engine: what type of turbo is on it? what color are the injectors? whats the condition of the engine?
They replied, "16g with the larger injectors to support it"
"We have 4 in stock I will pick you out a clean one!"
That Friday I received the motor on a busted up palatte
Dirty, beat up, sporting a td04, blue injectors.
I was a bit pissed at this point because I had gone with a large company in California paid more money than many other vendors are selling the cyclone for in an attempt to get the clean motor I wanted.
Setting this aside, I was just happy to have the motor and to finally be getting my car fixed. A couple of friends and I took out the old and in with the new. we had it complete and started it up
It made a very loud sound while idling we were afraid to drive it so we towed it to the shop at this point.
Good thing we towed it! the crankshaft had play. a 6 bolt motor
with crankwalk. At this point Im fed up with ard performance.
I have the motor sent back to them and ordered a new motor from midwest engine in Ohio. ARD Performance is a place you will want to stay away from they have horrible customer service and I have no clue how people like that stay in buisness? They flat out lied to me about the engine then sent me an engine with crankwalk. I still have not been refunded my 1800 and they have had the engine back since Monday, its now Friday. They keep stringing it along and giving me the run around about my money. I think I may have to file a law suit against them.
I received my motor from Midwest its like brand new, I am very impressed its definitely an extremely low milage engine. took the timing belt tensioner off and it was dated 99
This engine has never had its t belt changed before.
I thought that cyclone engines came out of early galants and evo III's I am wondering what this engine came out of with its 99 dating.
Does anyone know a way to track a history of a jdm motor?
If so this is the # off the plate on the engine JS 9520.
If you ever want to buy clean jdm motors I strongly recommend calling Dan at midwest.
I guess thats making a long story short!
Its going to be a completely different animal now I added a 16g, Bushur 2.5 mandrel turbo back with test pipe, safc and a act 2600
I cant wait to drive it!
