Whats up HAI,
it's time for tags on my 2000 civic si. I have a jdm 4-1 style header not carb exempt. Am I going to have a hard time getting it to pass emissions. I know the car can pass but I don't know if they need to see a label on it stating it's legal. I really don't want to tear apart my exhaust system over this.

jdm 4-1 header.
2.5" carsound cat.
apexi ws exhaust. so not loud and ricey or anything like that.

Thanks for any advise

I think you will be alright. I have DC 4-1 ITR style with the 2.5inch collector, random tech cat and greddy cat back and I passed.

CARB is California crap only. They don't give a shit here. It should pass.

You'll be fine. CARB is California-only. As long as you have a functioning cat & muffler, and the car is tuned, you should be good to go.

you can go in with a fully built motor and be boosted they won't say a thing may stare at your motor...basicaly they look for cats and o2 as long as you have the them then your good.

yeah only problem i had was they made me go back and change my rims. they wouldnt do mine with aftermarket rims. then all they did was check for cat & pressure check the gas tank. didnt even look under my hood.

They checked under my hood, and I got compliments from 2 of the guys there.

I passed visual with a turbo on my Storm. I also passed the sniffer easily. A header won't do anything to emissions as long as you have a cat.

Hahahha yeah you should be fine. You should start worrying when you have a turbo, big ass injectors, big fuel pump, no cat, etc. :D

My husband had to do the same thing with his sol. He has low profile tires and when they run the tests the tires/wheels run the risk of rubbing and being damaged badly.

they do that because there are restriant that come from the side of each wheel and there is a possibility of it rubbing on the wheel if you guy have rubber band as tires. This only applies to front and all wheel drive because they move side to side.
