That is retarded. I know that started in the honda community to cut costs since you don't have to fabricate a custom manifold. Can anyone confirm that this car even has a setup like that though?
I thought it started as an independant company doing it for vehicles that weren't as popular for aftermarket parts. The first one I ever saw was a Toyota pick-up. Does anyone know how much an oil sump pump costs? I'd think that the price of the sump, and the extra length of ALL the lines/pipes would be way more expensive than just a manifold.
Supposidly it's actually a very powerful setup. Some company did it on an ITR, and they gained like 20 HP by doing a rear-mount as opposed to a regular front mount turbo setup.

YOu are probably right. I just saw the first systems on honda's. From what I recall the prices of the complete systems WERE pretty low, and they are supposedly easy to install. I would never go with one though. The real twin turbo setups for the C6 aren't THAT bad price wise.

I don't know, it's 8,000 for the C5 corvette setup, and it relocates the air intake to the rear next to the gas tank. Just a couple inches of water and you would be screwed. For that money you can get this kit for the C6.

I've actually ridden in a Camaro with the STS turbo, and it's actually a great system. It was expensive (7K) but you are able to use standard headers, hence the extra 20HP over under hood kits, and you don't have to battle the wicked underhood temps. The guy who had it did say in a big rainstorm it would saturate the filter though, because the air filter is right by the drivers rear tire. His other complaint was that the charge tube goes right where the driver's subframe connector did go, so if he wants to stiffen the chassis he has to install a cage... but it certainly was fast

I am, but sometimes you are out driving and get caught in a rainstorm. I wouldn't want to ruin an engine simply because colorado weather decided to rain on me.

So move to Vegas or something. :D
I doubt a little rain would kill your motor, I mean.. you do take in moisture as it is (moisture in the air). IMO, you'd be fine, but I'm by no means an expert on that kind of thing.

the air intake replaces one side of the dual exhaust..
where you would see tips on a firebird there is a filter

Sounds kind of gay... this is for the rear-mount kit, right?

Yes, that is what I have been talking about this whole time. I'm going wit the turbo system I posted up above. I have no issues or woirries about driving with it.
