Sounds like horse shit and I would bet that it will never be implemented. It would take a *lot* of money to govern *all* the traffic going over the internet.

it's not even possible, and even if it were I guarantee there are some guys that could hack a system like that.

Doesn't suprise me they're finally coming to fruitation with those strategies. Heck aol and yahoo are gonna be doing the pay to email system where senders pay a nominal fee to send emails to their userbase. Of course I think it's retarded, but the general public is more than gullible, they'll even be used to it anwyay with the itunes etc charging for each download, or service where you can download so many songs a month for a fee (such a thing as paying to download so many files, send so many emails etc wont be so different to them). And it's not just like you can get an ISP that would allow unlimiteded access, most ISP's just rebuy bandwidth from the last mile line owners. Since the big wigs are running the true backbone, they can really do anything they want, time to grab them ankels I guess.
I hope the gov't steps in.. IMO the gov't wouldn't allow something like that to happen. That's just re-fucking-diculous.

How would the gov't make money off of it? Sounds to me like it's all going to be privately organized/developed...

but i'm sure they still have to pay taxes
but i'm sure they still have to pay taxes
.....uhhh, of course they do? The companies will always have to pay taxes. This wouldn't necessarily "make" the gov't money if I'm understanding this correctly.
