this morning driving to work i noticed my engine (D16z6 with 100k miles) was idling VERY low. somewhere around 500-700rpm. when i would take off from the light driving normal it sounded/feels like the engines going to cut out. like somethings getting bogged down. shifting into 2nd gear, the same thing happens around 2000rpm's.

i recently got my fuel injectors cleaned, timing belt, clutch, water pump, resurfaced my flywheel and some other stuff that dosent really have to do with the engine. last night i also filled up with a full tank of shell gas, which ive been using for the last couple of years. ive been using 91 octane for the last 8 months, and synthetic oil every 2,500-3k miles. up till today, my engine has been running very strong and healthy. ive had some problems with my idling.. it jumps from 800-1300rpms in netural, esp when its cold. i popped the hood when i got home, and it smells like gas/oil mixture. or like a OLD SCHOOL car. you know that smell? really rich gas or old burned gas.. or somtehing i dont know. HeLP!!

whats wrong with my car?

well for the idling issues i would pull off your idle air control valve (iacv)
and spray it out god with carb cleaner
those valves in there tend to get caked with shit

as for the other problems get a timing light and verify your timing is correct it should around 18+- 2 degrees fully advanced
also check your ignition system if it smellls like gas maybe the spark isnt buring long enugh due to high resistance in the system
just my .02 cents could be wrong
