me vs 2nd gen fwd this Friday

My car is in the shop so I rode with newt2 over to the Quebec/C470 Taco Bell and ran into a kid with a '95 Eclipse GS-T equipped with a big 16g turbo and claims it will run 13s at Bandi even though he's never ran it.
He said he'll race anybody and so I took him up on it and hopefully he'll show on Friday and maybe we'll put some $$$ on it. He does think he has one of the fastest DSMs around the Highlands Ranch area so we're gonna find out and see who's :king: .

I'm not trying to be cocky but I don't see how his FWD is gonna get me from a standing start,he also has a smaller turbo and I know he's not squeezin' but you never know that's why we leave the talk in the parking lot.

I used to be on the DSM list... they always talk about the HS, is that the same one?? I ended up selling my Talon though, didn't have the time to make it nice, plus it is paying for my new engine :D

Saturday night is (CO or RM)DSM night at the one on Simms. Wednesdays are usually the domestic crowd. Come on up and say 'Hi'. There are a couple trash talkers (as Vision Lude can attest to) but all in all we just hang out, talk cars and (eventually) work our way up to Westy sometimes.

Well,no race happened. He did show up with 13.9 on his windshield after racing at Bandi but he said it didn't do much better than a mid 14 and he was having problems with his boost controller so maybe some other time.
I'll still be waiting.

Nothing but excuses. That's the norm. Heck - I used to think my GSX ran 12s. I was SURE it ran 12s as it felt so darn fast. Then at the track, I received multiple 14.0 @ 100 timeslips. Over and over and over.

"My car runs XX.XX @ XX" with the caveat "but I haven't run it at the track yet" is 105% bullcrap. Until there is a timeslip in hand, it's all optimistic guesswork. And lies.

Paul - just to lay it down on said FWD. Hard. Shut him up.
