neener, neener, I got a sticker :). Bry, I forgot to ask you what your advice for me would be for my Catchcan. I looked at yours, but I think mine is a bit different. I'll have to take a pic and send it your way.

Oh yah, it was good seeing everyone again! You guys are awesome! Maybe next time my lady won't be working, and she can come down and hang with us all too.

What was with that guy who drove buy with his friends? Seriously.. did he think he was cool... any car (other than mine) there probably could of taken him

Yeah it was a good turnout. Took the car out a few times to stretch its legs a bit. Now I have to see how much tread I have left in the rear..

The guy with the Blue SI with the Blue tint is my friend David. The tint is actually a UV reflective, not resistant, that cost about $170 for 2 rolls. Its nice in the heat cause his car doesnt get to hot from the sun. Also his JRSC is going on next week with a 8lb stepper pulley.

Thanks for the sticker Brian.

I had a great time too, but my table was short so me and David had to pay $3 extra...lol. I better get hooked up next time;)

Thanks also for the ride Dave.
When I officially retire my car from being daily transportation I'm gonna start making serious plans for mine but for now I'm gonna try to bust 12s and that'll keep me content for a while. (or maybe 10 minutes:D )

Yah there isn't too much more to really know besides the fact that it's slow like mecham said ;).

B16crxTurbo - That was my WRX. And yes that is a air-to-water intercooler. HOwever it's not your standard spearco (air-to-air intercooler wrapped in a metal housing type).

Here are some pictures of the intercooler being displayed at this past years SEMA show (with plastic see through so you can see the internals). Basically it's just 3 tubes with 1/3" long fins around them that the air is forced to pass around. Very nice design.

For a little comparison my car dynoed about 5whp less than a VERY similarly setup WRX with a big front mount intercooler in it.

I wonder if there is any way to custom mount that into a SuperCharged civic... It could go before the TB, for example, but that would have to be some very chilled water to have much effect before the SC.

davidm_sh
04-08-2002, 06:32 PM
I honestly don't think you are going to get anything trying to cool/chill the air BEFORE the turbo/supercharger. The autorotor kits that Rimmer used to make simply had a custom intake manifold and this intercooler sat between the supercharger and the intake runners. Very nice setup. I believe that JR is doing somthing similar but any way you look at it it's not cheap.

The WRX is pretty much magazine quality and should be in one, maybe you should contact Turbo or SCC. You've got the BIG brake upgrade (to say the least),bigger turbo, that cool IC setup and plenty o' ponies to require those big brakes to haul itself down from a wicked 1/4 mile run and is nicer under the hood than some of the other cars that have been featured in those mags.

I was impressed.

04-09-2002, 12:27 PM
Thanks V8SpankR - But I don't think it's quite that good. Maybe I will give them a call but I don't think I need or want any extra attention drawn to my car ;)... from either the police or some greedy little teenager looking for a new stolen car [heh].
