ease it in to 2nd?

i just got a dsm and the guy i got it from said i have to ease it into second. what does that mean. is it just my clutch or is it the syncro. if it is the syncro how much is that to fix. and would i be able to do it. i have experience with motors but not transmissions

If it did it in all gears then I would most likely point the finger at the clutch, but me knowing DSM's and that lovely 2nd gear, I'd point the finger at the synchro/slider. Talk to Dr. Stupid on here, he can help you out.
