what kinda Hatch? like cx,dx,vx,ex and for a "burnout" like in my 92 hatch i take it up to 3500 Rpms and drop the clutch for a launch but as in a burnput i drop it at 4200 rpms.

There is no way someone can teach you over the internet. Just go out there and try.

You have to go practice, no way can someone over the internet teach you how to drag race.
OK, now it's time to flame.

Keep going before the High School Drags or you will get made fun of at the HSD. I have seen guy's not know how to line up to one time a guy left it in reverse when the tree went there he went backwards funny shit.

Lay off the kid guys. Aty least he's going to bandimere instead of trying to kill us by racing on the street.

I would suggest finding someone near you who races to take you out and teach you firsthand. We're not going to be able to teach you over the internet. If you live in the Denver area you can probably talk one of the guys on here into helping you. Otherwise I would suggest just going somewhere that no one is around and practice on your own. You can probably find a practice tree pretty cheap.
Every car is different and the proper rpm for a launch won't be the same on other cars.

you floor it and shift fast, Jebus! if you drive it good you'll run an 18 sec 1/4, if your bad it''l be a 20 sec 1/4.... either way im gonna want those 18-20 seconds of my life back!
to do a burn out pull the ebrake, rev it up and dump the clutch... it probably wont even have enough power for a burnout though, and a burnout on street tires doesn't help you at all anyways.
Next HSD is memorial day, so if you're still 17 by then call the office and ask them to send you waivers and get those signed by your parents. Its like $30 or $35 I forgot which to race, have every thing secured down in the car. The day of the races after you pay, go down to inspection, theres usually signs or you can follow people, after that take the road back to the pits and wait till they call your color wristband then head down, wait in line for your run.
Oh, dont expect to race a bunch of times, you race three times guaranteed, then you race a few more if you win, so pretty much the entire day you sit in your car or walk around waiting for them to call your name to take your run, then wait a few more hours and repeat until you get eliminated and go home.
I feel for ya kid, I went my first time last year and the best advice I can give you...
When in the staging lanes..
Do not rev your engine and or bump your system, this pisses people off and you will look like a dumbass..
When your lining up
Wait for the guy to tell you to move foward
Watch what the guy next to you does and copy what he does..
IF YOUR NOT RUNNING SLICKS DO NOT DO A BURNOUT.
Your street tires will get greasy and you will probably get a crappy launch.
Staging
Slowly move up until both yellow lights next to the tree light up. As soon as they are both lit up STOP immediatly and wait for the light to turn green (it will go fast so be ready for it).
Launching
I don't know what kind of motor you have but i'd suggest launching from around 5500-6500 depending on your motor. Some people believe slipping your clutch is the best (releasing the clutch gradually and feathering it until you get traction) but as a beginner I got better times dropping it from around 6000.. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT REACTION TIME.. Don't worry about reaction time your first couple times out.. You'll probably redlight, and reaction time does not effect the time you will run down the strip.
Proceeding down the strip
When you shift you should not get off the gas and just keep the pedal down to the floor, put the clutch in make your shift and release the clutch.. Doing this stops your car from nosediving and loosing momentum. Keep doing this until you reach the sign's and than proceed to slow down..
Turning off
Well as your getting off the track let whoever was in front turn in first, don't do a ricer flyby to get passed him so you can get out first. You'll see the return road near the end of the strip...
Follow whoever you raced to the timing shack and pick up your slip..
Don't be dissapointed by your crappy time.. It takes a while to get into the groove.
Other than that your on your own.. Make sure you pick up a waiver before you go if you don't you will not be able to race unless your parents are there to sign it. I'm also 17 and had to get it signed. Once you do they will keep it on record and you won't have to sign it again.
Go have fun, and don't be too impatient.

Drop the clutch @ 7600rmp w/ slick tire (after burnout) on a turbo GSR motor. traction might not be there yet but the POWER sure is. It's fun!!!

I actually learned how to stage/launch by playing Nitto 1320 challenge. Other than that go to a tech-n-test night. It's just practice, but I usually get a lot more runs (got 27 runs one night) in than I would at an event. Like someone else said, pay attention to the people directing you to the line. The guy at the tree gave me some tips on reaction time my first night, after he saw that I was clueless.
I learned how to launch by watching 2Fast 2Furious.. that also taught me how to race in a circuit style race, and even how to compete in demolitian derbies!!!

this is what I do , just go out at 3am, try I-25 kinda by Cherykreek make shore its late and no cars around or cops , slam a couple of redBulls, slow down or pull in to the Emerjensy lane and stop , make shur u got ur Hazard lights on, rev up to 3000 4000 rpm and drop the clutch burn some rubber or what have you, then just practise Takin off shifting , the way I shift when I race is >> When im in gear and the RPMs r right I push in the cluch while the cluch is pushet in I I tap the gas pedal to bring up the RPM say if you are in 2nd gear the Rpm is close to 5000 or close to that then when you go to switch gears to 3rd you are goin to have to take you foot off the gas pedal then u push in the cluch resulting in your RPMs to go down , so when u pop ur hooptiy in to 3rd( or what ever gear it is) and you still have the cluch pushet in tap the gas pedal to bring up the rpms, so lets say u left 2nd gear at 5000 rpm u want to enter 3rd gear at about the same rpm so the cluch disk can engage at the same speed with the flywheel, its all about the RPMs just make shore u know how much ur stock car can handl and Practise,, when ur ready and u wana test ur skill ,do this ,, pull up to a Ricer u c on the street and start Revin up on him ,if he revs back its on like donkey kong just pull ur sweet shifting skill and take his ass out ,,,and make shore to wach your RPMs ,,,and chek you manual to c what gear you should b in at what speeds and RPMs
I ppl wana bitch at me and tell me Im a Moron go 4 it, but thats how I do it and it hasnt faild me so far ......and at least im helpin the dude
Yeah.. help him get a ticket. Sounds good, sounds REAL good.

say if you are in 2nd gear the Rpm is close to 5000 or close to that then when you go to switch gears to 3rd you are goin to have to take you foot off the gas pedal then u push in the cluch resulting in your RPMs to go down , so when u pop ur hooptiy in to 3rd( or what ever gear it is) and you still have the cluch pushet in tap the gas pedal to bring up the rpms, so lets say u left 2nd gear at 5000 rpm u want to enter 3rd gear at about the same rpm so the cluch disk can engage at the same speed with the flywheel

yah well sorry dude I guess thats bad advise,,,... forget all that I sed maybe exept the Shifting part .
Forget that too. The only reason you would need to tap the gas to bring the revs back up is if you miss the gear, or take a ridiculous amount of time to shift. In addition, shifting out of 2nd at 5k doesn't mean you should shift into 3rd at 5k. You could do that, but it would put a lot of unneeded stress on the clutch because the next gear has a lower ratio, meaning the clutch is spinning slower.
