I got a dsm (talon) and i just started working on the motor. I pulled off the valve cover and a hose was connected to the side. I followed it back towards the fire wall and a tennis ball container with the hose going into a hole they cut on top of it and next to that there was an air breather. i have no idea what this is. Does anyone know?

The motor is a 4g63T

Sounds to me like the previous owner used it as a catch can. The line from the valve cover is for blow by, which allows oil from the crank case to vent outta the valve cover, which is then caught by that container instead of being shot all over your engine bay. ;)

Sounds like it's connected to a catch can (as Matt said), either leave it alone or personally I'd recommend hooking it back up to the intake tube in front of the turbo.

Yep, I'm starting mass production of them next week and selling them on eBay. I'm going to have to fly out to Japan to make them though.. otherwise I wouldn't feel right about labeling it "JDM" :(
