Having completely outgrown my home garage based business, I found a very nice small shop on 287 and 66 in Longmont that was affordable. I've got roughly 1,400 square feet right off main street. Shares a building with TruckToys, for those of you who know the area. I would have preferred Denver, but anything affordable down south was in the slum.
Anyway, I've already got the floors coated with epoxy, got the first load of shit moved in last night. I'm about to leave in a few minutes with another load or two. I'm pretty excited, finally running a shop for myself, and not some ungrateful asshole
A couple crappy pics from before the floor coating and moving anything in

Same thing I've been doing all along: working on Mitsus and doing fabrication. I will of course work on anything that has a check book, and I'm putting in a nitrous fill station, I just have my specialty markets :)
If all goes well, it should make for a decent combination of fab work, service and installs, and casual drop-in business for stuff like couplers and and such. I'm working on opening up a couple more wholesale accounts, so I can complete the list of brands I carry and get parts a lot quicker.

Neat, even though I never knew what you've "been doing all along". ;)

Yeah, most people here don't, probably because most people here have Hondas :D

Congrats Tom, Glad to see you're doing well.
What kind of fabrication do you do?

How about turning the avalon into an F1 Car?

Huh? How you got to this is beyond me, since it only stands to reason that a board of largely Honda owners would not really know what I've been up to for the past couple of years. Try not to get all butt-hurt when someone specializes in something other than your car
The only help I really need at this point is a truck. My neighbor is giving me a Bronco for installing a transmission, but it allegedly has an issue with cylinder 1, so it won't be of much use for the time being. I just have a few heavy items I need to haul up there from Lafayette, welder, few engines, work bench, etc. The rest I've just been throwing in the back of my car, since it's largely hand tools.

You specialize in Mitsu's. I don't give a shit. I think they are piles of shit. Not saying Hondas are any better, but you think Mitsu's are some God given gift. Sorry buddy, they're not. The Honda comment was also based off of previous comments of yours about Honda's.
BTW - Why would I get butthurt over someone I would never give my business to? ;NutKick; Also, seems there are plenty of Nissan, Mitsu, Subie owners here, not "mostly" Honda's.
Anyways, I'm done arguing with you about this. Have fun and good luck w/your shop.

Like I said, I've never really pushed it on this board, if I did more with Hondas I probably would. They come through every once in a while, I'm doing a timing belt on an Accord, as well as CV's and balljoints on a Civic this week.
I am going to be keeping some universal items in stock, mostly couplers and clamps and smaller stuff like that, and a good amount of raw materials for fab work. I'll also be working pretty closely with Pang, all in all I"m thinking things will go pretty smoothly. Though for the next month it's going to be pure hell, since I'm already behind on too much, and have people lined up around the block and fighting eachother for appointments. At least I can handle 4 cars at once, as opposed to how it's been for the past year or so: 1 car at a time. Should make everyone quite a bit happier :)

Mitsu's ARE a god given gift, fucker. I'd take a DSM/3S over any Honda any day of the week.

I wouldn't go that far, I have an unhealthy obsession with NSX's. A freind of mine has a black 91 (I think), he would have let me drive it but my feet were too big to get the clutch all the way down :(
I've owned several Hondas, stripped a few, done a pretty good amount of work on them; they're decent cars, there are certainly worse ones out there. I'm just not an enthusiast anymore, despite having owned several.

NSX's don't count. I'm referring to civics cause Matt has one.

Why don't you refer to something that YOU have? See pic.

I was, FYI, I've owned/built several nice DSM's and owned a couple Honduhs. I know wtf I'm talking about yo.
So that's what it looks like between your legs eh?
I know what I'm talking about with Honda's. I know the potential of them. ;)
Only when I'm on top of your woman.

It was either that, or a shit hole on 69th and washington that was impossible to find with a HUGE sinkhole in the parking lot for about the same money, complete with crackheads hiding in the bushes and everything.
I'm not too worried about getting business, I've been doing quite well for myself from my home garage, this is my only source of income. Considering up until now I've only been able to do 1 car in the garage and 1 car in the driveway at a time, business was slow and really limiting, hopefully this will free things up.
And I do have more than a few parts to pawn off on ebay, plus parts cars and a few other business ventures, so I'm not too worried about making ends meet. Worst come to worst, my total investment into the new shop so far is $255 plus rent, so nothing huge lost if I have to move out, I just moved all my existing equipment and shelves and such up there :)

Hey, if you need anyone to stand at the top of the lift to hold the cross member fearing for dear life, let me know - I'm already experienced :ring:. But really, if you need an extra hand to move some of the heavy stuff, I can help out for a few hours.

Congrats, Tom! Now that you're in a commercial space you'll be surprised at how much more business you'll get walking in the door.....it made a huge difference for us! Once you get your business cards, mail a few down to us and we'll try to get some Mitsus up to you.
