Ok heres the scoop on what happend.
I was driving back from a friends house on a back road a little spirited(the only way right;RoCkOn; ) and my battery light came on. It does this everyonce in a while cause of the UDP when i have the fogs/head lights, sterio, defrost so i just dismissed this and turned off the fogs defrost and sterio till it went off.

I was going along down acadamy and notice that i was smoking from under hood at the same time the temp guage went up, so i pulled over and found out that the thermostat gasket went and sprayed coolant all over the belts and everything in the front of the engine(the belt were slipping cause of that and thats why the batt light came on)

I get all that fixed and start heading back and then it starts missfiring in 1&4 cylinder. These have DIS so 1&4 and 2&3 fire at the same time. I thought it was cause coolant got in the crank position sencor and i let it sit for a day then came back to it. It ran fine for a while, but then all the sudden 1&4 both stopped firing.

If the CPS goes bad will it cause the coil pack to not fire at all or just one side? Also what else can cause that besides the CPS and coil pack?

I know this may sound dumb but change the wires first, anti-freeze is nasty stuff when sprayed around like that, make sure all your connections are dry and pray it didn't damages your coils.

just my 2 pennies

Well the the wires and plugs are both fairly new, and im sure its not that cuase everytime it does it, it happens to both at the same time. Im gonna pull the connector for the coil and CPS and put some die-electric grease in there to see if that helps any. I need to drive it till its starts doing it again so i can start diagnosing it.

Well i think i might have figured out my problem.
I was looking at it today while it was running and noticed a little ticking sound. I got my ear right up next to abunch of things and traced it to a plug wire. Damn things are only a few weeks old.
Im thinking that cuase the wire end is bad and has to ark accross, and maybe its causing too much draw on the coil. After a while it gets to hot or something and shorts out for a while. If it shorts out like that then it would short both sides to do the same thing.

What do you guys think?

Thats why I said that first;RoCkOn;

That anti-freeze is nasty stuff when its hot and sprays all over engine compartment, I have had it destroy some wires once myself. I hope that is all that the problem is, arcing is easily fixed once you find where it arcs, My ciol has to be wrapped or the wire arcs back to the coil every now and then. Weird stuff.

Anyway I hope that fixes ya.:)

well the coolant cant get to the wires on my car...It must have broke some time from pulling it out. The part that broke is the part that holds the end of the sparkplug. Coolant never made it up top of the head.
Remember these are new 4 cyl's with pretty much a hemi style plug set up.

You should have bought a Ford, they never break down...

Anyway, glad you found the problem.
