I got that beast running pretty good, but i have a few questions.
When i drive normally i hit boost, like 3-5 psi at around 2k rpms, and full boost about 250rpms later. Im only running 8psi on the B16g untill the head and turbo breaks in...i guess for about 500 miles. But should it spool that early? I know its an odd question, but i have no exhaust mods exept a Ported evo mani and ported and clipped FP B16g.
My other mods are just -
-Dejon intake tube and outlet elbow
-K&N with no air can and the restricter pulled out of the MAS.

Also, i need to take someone that has more experience with DSMs for a ride to help me find out what this noise is. I cant describe the noise, but it only happens if i decellerate in any gear at over 3k rpms

Well have it at the next luncheon and we can even datalog your car for fun and see how everythings doing.
Turbos don't need a break-in but the head should need at least a few hundred.
The full boost point sound normal since you're only running 8psi,you could bump it up to 11 and still be ok since stock boost is 10.5 on a 14B.

Well i already have the pocket logger, It was the first thing i bought. I wanted to be able to see how i was running before i made anything worse.
I do need a MBC now cause the stock controller seems like its just acting like a straight tube. Im gonna mess with it a little this week and maybe ill figure some stuff out.
I plan to run about 13 psi on it when i get the fuel pump rewire done. I cant really do much untill the neon is gone though.

I wish one of the first things I bought was the Pocketlogger or at least bought it as soon as they were available.
I'm getting ready to do this next round of mods all at once.
Next week I'm getting my rear bearing fixed and the new brake pads up front (2nd Creek ate 'em up) and then come struts and my fuel pump and injectors will be in and then retune the setup on race gas and be ready to go on April 26th.

Sweet deal. With all of that you should be good to run a good 22 psi with some 118. Im betting youll hit 12s with that if you ran a 13.9 with only 16psi on a S16g.
Good luck paul.

I'd love to see a 12 but the stock IC might hold me to low 13 which I'd be content with..............for now.

The question is "is your car ready"?
It's not just gonna mysteriously drop any parts?;)

Why are you selling the Neon, D?

Actually to tell you the truth, if i could go back about 5 months i would never have sold the turbo off of it. I decided to sell it cause the insurance is to much on it cause i have to pay full coverage.

Even though lots of people dissed on my car it was a good low 14 sec car with only 5.5 psi boost, and way funner to drive than the laser. Its just so much more comfortable, the shifter is awsome with the short throw and rage bushings, and i love the cab forward design.

Now that im driving the laser i miss driving the neon, even though the laser is faster.

How'd you get ACT to give you a new one for free?

well man, when i pulled out the clutch. it was like a burnt taco, and twisted and shit pieces of it were melted onto the flywheel. so i called up the 1-800 number for act to talk to them. and the told me they did not think they could do anything for me. but if i sent it in they would look at it for me. so i sent it in and they called me back two weeks later. and they told me it was a defalt that came from the factory, i was like ok. so what does that do for me they said wel we will send you a new one is that ok. i was like hell fuckign yea, heheeh.

peace

That's cool that they admitted it was their fault but I'm sure that's keeps customers coming back since they know most DSMers replace their clutch almost on a regular basis. I don't see me using anything other than a ACT clutch in the forseeable future.

Next time we meet up i need to feel how your clutch feels Paul. I just want to see how it fell before i get it.

The 2600 feels stiff if you're not used to it but after awhile it becomes the norm. The only time it can be a pain (literally) is when you are stuck in stop and go traffic for an extended period of time or when you get in regular car and nearly put your foot through the floor.
