security / alarm suggestions

My car was stolen recently so I am interested in putting a security system in to deter these assholes from ripping off my car or stereo. Can anyone suggest a good value alarm and other tips for installing kill switches, etc?

My suggestion to you, make sure you have insurance. It seems like no matter what people have on their cars (kill switches, alarms and so on) they continue to get stolen. It sucks I know, but people are assholes. I guess you could get a pitbull for a redneck car alarm...that would keep em out!!!!!!
