Actually, tomorrow I'm going to go test ride a few bikes. I got my license last year, and am looking for some sort of secondary transportation to stop putting so many miles on my Talon and being able to actually tear it apart for a few days if needed.
I plan on taking the F4i, R6, and GSX600 out for rides. Maybe the GSX 750 if the others are feeling too small. I'm not the smallest person in the world, so I hope a 600 is big enough for me. I don't know if I'd want something bigger than a 600 for a beginning bike or not.
I did want a second car, but these nice days have been giving me motorcycle fever. ;) Today in my Apt Complex, I saw 3 new bikes within a 2 building radius!

What places are you going to take test rides at??? A lot of the places around here don't allow test rides on new bikes......just used ones.
BTW I rode to class today :D

I was thinking of riding the R6 and GSX 600 at Colorado Powersports on 104th, and the F4i at Sun Honda in Thornton.
At the Boulder Powersports, the manager there told me to come by anytime and try out the various bikes to see which one worked best for me.. maybe I should go back there.

I got the Silver and red one.. out the door price was around $8200, but after haggling the bike price itself was $7600. Another guy there was buying his second F4i and thought that I got a pretty good price for it, so it works I guess. I'll have to fire up my dinosaur digicam and take some pictures of it if it ever gets nice on the weekend again. ;)
I also picked up a Joe Rocket Hard Drive jacket, and I have a Shoei RF-900 helment and some Joe Rocket Gloves. Here's the jacket:

I'm still a very green rider, and I'm sure that your bike is faster, not to mention that my power to weight ratio could be better since the rider on my bike is heavy. ;)
I guess I have to keep it under 6,000 RPM anyhow until 1K miles.. at least that's what they said... just now got the owners manual out of the garage, so I'll see what it says.
Man.. if I were a little shorter, I probably would of picked-up the R6. But I really like the CBR so far. I'll be happy when I can finally get on the throttle to see how fast it is.. 6K is underwhelming to me. :(

Just wait until you hit redline for the first time........you had better be holding on tight. Yeah it sucks during the break in period.....also do the break in period like the owners manual says not what the motorcycle shop guys say. They know what they are talking about but they just give you an overall of keep it below 6k rpm's when the owners manual might say something different. Congratualtions we will all have to go riding some time.

insurance on them is not as bad as you would think. But one thing I can say is that bikes are way more fun than I ever imagined. I have soooo much fun on my bike in the nice weather. I love my car and all, but when it is nice out being on a bike is very enjoyable even if you are just cruising around......

Thanks guys. :) I'll try and take some pictures this weekend. So long as the rest of the week is nice, I hope to have detailed the bike and car by Saturday evening. Its about time for that first Spring wax on the car... I need some updated pictures of it as well.

I haven't ridden in just over two months, since my 929 got stolen :( Havent' decided if I'm gonna get another bike yet, my 929 was my fourth. I had a couple minor crashes not too long which made me think long and hard about getting another. But we'll see, I love riding more than anything pretty much. I know quite a lot of the Denver riding population, or have ridden with them at one point or another :) My car hobby has kinda taken over since my bike got stolen, to keep my mind off of riding...
I have tons of pics and a few videos of riding and stunt riding on my website, just look on teh link in my sig...

Not that you can't see this bike at Honda's website (since its still bone stock), but here it is:

I did just order a whole slew of things, though.. I'll take some new pics once they are all in and installed.

Take the ABATE MSF class..
http://www.abateofcolo.org/
That's how I started.. before it, I had only ridden on ATV's. If you take it and pass it, it counts as your riding portion of the test for your motorcycle license.

Nice Micron.. I ordered the red can for mine.. should look/sound/perform nicely. :) I just hope it doesn't take more than a few weeks to come in since its on backorder.
Bikes are too much fun.. haven't touched much on my car since I've gotten the bike.

My micron took 2 months to come in. But I do love it and it did make a noticable power gain. Plus I like it for the coolness factor.:)

Damn.. 2 months. What time of year did you order it at? I'm sure I picked about the worst time to order it, but oh well. :) I know that they have a new factory now, so hopefully it won't be THAT long. I ordered it from Discount Tire & Accessories (great place, BTW), and the guy I talked to (who I kind of know from sportbikes.net) said they told him 2 weeks, but that was their response everytime something from them was backordered.
Did you just get a slip-on? I decided to get the slip-on for now and if I need it, I can get the Serpent header later.
I just bought all kinds of odds and ends (ZG Double Bubble windscreen, Airtech LED turn Signals, etc), but I'll probably get an undertail, cowl, and hugger next.

Actually, here is the list of what I have on order:
- Micron Rear Stand
- K&N Airfilter
- Zero Gravity Double Bubble clear shield
- Carbon Fiber Frame Sliders
- Micron Slip-On ( http://pics.booms.net/motorcycle/aai )
- Clear Tank bra
- Airtech LED Turn Signals (to replace the front ugly ones)
- Hyperlight 3way LED Secondary signal/running/stop lights w/ brackets
(non-blinking) ( http://www.hyperlites.com [for safety & in case the aftermarket undertail I end-up with has dim lighting])
- Bright White headlight bulbs
- Honda Service Manual
- Tapeworks Charcoal Gray accent kit ( http://www.tapeworks.com/motoimages/1068d.jpg )

yeah I just got a slip on. I also have some lockhart phillips rear turn signals-short stalks. I have some Dussalt flush mounts. I am thinking of geting this undertail as we speak.

Very nice. There is an R1 style undertail for my bike, but after looking at it over and over again, I'm beginning to think its kind of ugly. (much less over priced)
However, I like this one quite a bit:

I'm just curious. Anyone that has put on a different exhaust encounter jetting issues? Ever since I took off my Micron and replaced it with that shitty vance and hines my bike really bogs. I never had a problem with the full carbon micron. Maybe it's just the shitty pipe?

I'm still stock, but I'll let you know once I get the Micron (but my bike is fuel injected). I /shouldn't/ need one, but I guess we'll see.
Have you checked for exhaust leaks?

You are *supposed* to re-jet if you put an aftermarket exhaust on. The problems you are having are pretty typical. Some bikes it's worse some bikes don't notice it. If you're fuel injected, the computer will make adjustments, but it's nice to remap, with say a PowerCommander :)
My last carburated bike (gsxr 750) I had to re-jet with a full Yosh system. My old 929 I just re-mapped it.
Oh, and hopefully by the end of the week I'll be on my 2nd 929 (last one was stolen). Can't wait...
