5.0 or 5.slow??

I was on my way home from lunch when a guy in a 94ish Mustang GT 5.0 pulled up next to me at the light at circle and Uintah. He was an older guy so when I gave him a quick rev he looked and laughed. I knew the smile and laughter on his face was only temporary so I smiled back. The light changed and he took off tires smoking. I launched fairly easy dropping it from about 2000 rpm's. He got out in front of me because of my weak launch, but by the top of first I regained myself and pulled next to him. I shifted to second layed down some rubber, and watched as his car grew smaller in my rearview. I let off in third with a good 5 or 6 cars on him. I slowed to say good race and he quickly turned and sped off :)

One more educated mustang owner on the streets of colorado springs :hat:

it's pretty rare, expecially around here, but if I get beat I complement the guy on his hard work and ask what he has done. All cars are about is who has the most cash, and who has the most time. Sometimes the guy with the cash still doesn't win, so it's up to us low spenders to make up the difference with extra work :D

Thanks and yeah,i don't cry too much but I know there's plenty of V8 guys who would love to catch me at a light around here. I did get my ass smacked by a SC'd '99 Cobra that was laying down almost 400hp to the wheels and I got beat and a couple of summers ago I got beat by a TT Supra that had a few mods.

When I do lose I just get frustrated and I think I need more power and my wallet flies open. :eek:

If I can run some low 13s at Bandi this year consistently then I think I'll be happy for a while.....or NOT.:mad:

A 99 Cobra that was supercharged was only laying down around 400 RWHP?!?!

My GT is at 392 RWHP.....or WAS, anyway. :gapteeth:

The Cobra, being a DOHC with more power to start with should've been around 450 RWHP....my lil SOHC 4.6 is getting close to being maxxed out, and I've seen blown Cobras WELL OVER 500 RWHP.

I need a new saying for your car since it isn't a 5.0 nor is it slow.

I don't know the specs,remember not everybody runs the same setup but I do know his best at Bandi was a 12.8.

I guess my numbers are corrected. If I remember correctly, the numbers up here were around 350 RWHP. I'm not sure, though...

Thanx Brian---4.fast sounds kewl. And hopefully those numbers will raise another 50-100 RWHP when all the tuning and parts are installed...

His best at Bandi was a 12.8?? Damn traction problems....him and I have close to the same as far as power, but I couldn't break that 13.1. :(
