Man did I fuck up my transmission this weekend! My brother and I checked in Friday night for a weekend of running the track at the Rockingham Speedway. We were bored and the Rockingham Dragway across the street was having test-n-tune night, so we thought we'd get in a few runs:

I pulled the transmission Saturday morning, got it all torn down, hot-tanked, put a new final drive and some carbon-coated synchros in it, then got in a few laps on Sunday.

Had a minor mouse freak-out, all fixed.

what led to that, wheel hop?

I didn't get any wheel hop, this was slipping the clutch on street tires with traction bars. I think it was just my final drive's time to die. It's seen at least 100 launches on slicks with 380-408 WHP. It let go immediately on launch.
