So this Spring Break, I think I'm finally going to do what I've been dreaming about for years. Get rid of this useless automatic crap and swap in a 5-speed.
I was going to try this swap myself, with a couple of extra hands, but I just don't trust it. There's too much involved for our limited knowledge. I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for a shop to use for this. I am getting everything out of a junked Tiburon, every nut and bolt needed for the swap.
The only place I've contacted thus far is Proformance Torque Converters, or atleast the tranny shop that they are now attatched to, and they quoted over $2000. That really is way more than it should be, so if anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate the input.
