Ok for a while I was driving with no muffler on the car...and god it was loud! Just installed my catback Apex-i N1 exhaust today and the car sounds smooth. Top end defintaly improved. The only thing is that my test pipe is a little longer than the stock cat so it hangs out a little far and rubs my control arm. and the thing sits pretty damn low..like an inch off the ground.

Anyone know where I can have someone shorten my test pipe an inch?

Cool man glad you finally got it.

You may be able to have the test pipe trimmed at muffler masters, but don't ask them to put it on for you because it's illegal.

Now one question though, how would the top end improve from more back pressure? I could see you gaining some midrange and torque down low, but open exhaust would give you the best top end...

More top end because my old exhaust was chocking the flow...if you take a look at my pipe it accually gets smaller in diameter as the flow exits out, the bigger piping from the N1 help it out. So the top end improved from less back pressure.

but you had no muffler on the old setup. You were running open exhaust with just the mid pipe on which should be 2 inch instead of then1's 2.25. At any rate i'm glad you like the exhaust. Hopefully it did give you a hp or 2 on the top :)

hmm, do you have the silencer in yours?, i have it in mine and it seems to be making it buzz a little bit, sounds kinda wierd, but 7 decibels is a nice decrease in noise

My car sounds sooooo much quiter than my old "setup" I can accually hear my music or other people when I get on the car, before they had to wait till I brought the rev's down. Anyone that has been behind me when I got on it lost hearing for a few seconds :) but now it's smooth!

Steve I sounds just like your car did back in the day with out the s/c :) I bascailly have the same setup.

Oh yeah and my buzz is coming from my exhaust sitting on my control arm, the reason for that is cause of the test pipe is a little longer than the stock cat, but that will get modified here soon and I will be putting on my stock cat for a while till it does.

forum- how low does yours hang? I remember seeing it at the track last week but really didnt pay too much attention. My thing seriously hangs about an inch off the ground! Oh yeah and the buzz might be coming from it hitting a heat sheild, unless yours is real close to the arm...

Well i have the back of the car sitting higher than i would like but i have about 2" of clearance on it i think. And the buzzing goes away when i take out the silencer so im pretty sure thats it. And damn your car must have been loud if this is a lot quieter
