View Full Version : LS/VTEC writeup?
hey tobi, i serached on HT and google, but the writeups on building an LS/VTEC motor have been half assed at best. do you have any links or info that outlines the swap, machine work, and parts needed? thanks a lot man, i appreciate it!

that definately helps as far as the actual build process, but im still not 100% sure of everything i need to make the swap work and be decently reliable.
Ok, so i was looking on Golden Eagles Website, mainly their "Vtec conversion kit" so say i were to get this, what else would i need? a head of course, but as far as engine management goes, is there any one solution that would be easier/ more affordable than the others?

A VTEC head, Intake and exhaust manifolds, LS block (preferrably in good condition), GE VTEC conversion kit.
As far as management goes it depends on your budget
MSD RPM activated switch and relay: $100 No tuning
Vtec ECU: $200 No tuning
VAFC: $300 +tuning
Hondata S200 or S300: $295-$595 (plus VTEC ECU) +tuning
this is going into my '96 Integra LS, so i am going to use that block unless i can find one down here in AZ for cheap. since the car is OBD2 what ecu should i use? just an OBD2 GSR ecu, or should i convert everything to OBD1 and go with a P72.

You can use an OBD-II P72.
just a couple more quick questions. would an Apex-i World Sport exhaust provide enough flow for the engine? it has 60mm piping, but is that enough? would you reccomend anything else that would better suit my needs? thanks tobi.
also, would i see significant gains by using hondata over a vafc. basically asking if the extra $$ for hondata is going to be worth it in a pretty mild N/A build.

60mm would be fine for anything NA up here.
Hondata>vafc always.

you will need arp rod bolts if you want to rev past 7000rpms safely
