Ya, you leave it in gear and one day it's right there in your livingroom warming you up!! A shop can't do it in Colorado, or about 90% of the other states. If you can get a hold of your cars wire color codes and the remote starters codes you can do it yourself. It's easy!!

talk to kevin i think his name is preludefansh or something, he put remote start on my h22 i had in my civic, did a good job. he even put in a kill switch so the car only starts in neutral.

Yeah, you can just disable your clutch interlock altogether by jumping it but that isn't very safe.

preludeshfan did one on mine. Worked great... I had to remove it though when I did my engine swap. I needa get a hold of him to redo it again. Worked like a champ tho and saved my car quite a few times. :)

most remote starts have a setting where you can increase the crank time but then if it starts right away it will grind the starter....

i had one on my car for years and one on my truck for the last 2 years. leaving it in gear has never been an issue for me but i let my roomate borrow my truck last winter and he left it in gear. the next morning it ended up halfway through the garage door.
i won't install them with out a neutral safety switch anymore.

Yea just have someone put in a neutral saftey switch also but you can easyily instill it by grounding the clutch pedal had it done on two cars ran one into a wall and one into the back of girlfriends moms porshe got safty switch now

no it wont, the alarm senses rpm to turn off the starter and detect when the engine is running or if it dies.
any fuel injected engine will come to life well beyond the rpm the starter can spin it and in doing so will force the starter to disengage the gears. the starter shaft has a spiral shaft that when turning the gear forces the gear to the end of the shaft. when the engine fires up the engine spins the gear faster than the starter can spin it and as a result the gear is forced back to the body of the starter even if you were to keep holding the key to the start position.

i forgot about the tach sense but good to know about the starter gear going back in once it starts.

if you do it put a bypass switch on the remote start. that way you can turn the remote start off and park it in gear, or let your friends borrow it.

all in all it's just safer to have it wired so it won't start in gear no matter what.
