there is no such thing.......Turbos have shown time and time again that they like to eat honda engines.

I've heard bad things about every single turbo kit made. If you are planning to go turbo then probably the greddy kit. I would save a couple grand extra to have laying around in case the motor goes though.

or better yet, when the motor goes.

boost is boost, no? if you over boost a stock engine, you will blow it up. I don't think it would mater if you were pushing 15 psi on a turbo or a super charger IMO anyway. You guys do have torque at 1000 rpm which is more than I can say for sure... but I get to have a cool blow off valve :D

Yopu would think boost is boost but I see about 20 times as many blown turbo engines than supercharged ones.
Why? Don't know, it's a mystery....

HEAT!! turbos heat up the charged air a LOT more than a s/c.

True, plus I think they are especially hard on a car that wasn't designed to have a turbo. The lack of stainless steel valves as Korney knows causes problems becuase of the extra pressure and heat from the turbo. The engine oil is used to cool the turbo so your engine oil breaks down much faster because we don't have oil coolers.

also, most turbos flow more CFM of air than SCs. Apparently honda engines can only take so much CFM before busting something, and our stock compressions don't help much either, along with the aluminum block. Aren't DSMs cast iron blocks? Supras? That's probably why they can boost 15-30 PSI easily and reliably. Then again, there's always nawz.

a few months ago, i thought turbo>supercharger. i thought that due to the fact that you can easily get more power out of a turbo. but now that i see all these honda motors blowing up, I will say Sc>turbo :)

when are you going to get that thing painted? It's pretty ugly, but pretty fast too. What do you redline at?

hmm, that's kewl... it didn't sound like you were going upto redline yesterday... maybe my 7200 redline screams more, or maybe I just wasn't listening when you redlined it.

Hey what turbo kit do you have? Stock internals? I been trying to decide which kits most reliable.

I don't really have a "kit" I put it together. It's an HKS ex manifold with a T.E.C. T-28 turbo. I have a Vortec FMU, revhard IC and piping, greddy BOV, walbro fuel pump, and everything else is custom. I have been running on stock internals up till now. I am building a new motor with Arias pistons, Total seal rings, Eagle rods, block guard, and a sleeve job. But up till now, no major problems, and I drove it everyday till I came to Germany. I hope to have lots of fun with it when I get back.
