I know I just got it but I already want to pull her out and build her up. But I dont know where to begin I want to add induction down the road but not for awhile and very little. OBD1 B16A Swap in a 1993 Del Sol. So where do I begin IE: bottom end head etc., what parts do I need, what brand of parts should I use, where should I buy them and what is a good cost?? Any and all help as always is greatly appreciated thanks!!

If you want something very mild just do CTR cams and pistons. It adds some power and you can get it done for about 1K.

Isnt the one I have JDM?? Is there a Difference? What will I get out of it and will it be strong enough for light boost down the road? When you say CTR cams are you talking about the bottom end shaft or the head cams? Witht eh CTR pistons will I have to bore out the block or will they fit right in? Sorry for all the Q's I am a noob to the B series I spent allot of time on the Dseries junk but now that I have a good platform I am excited to build it up.

JDM is one thing but CTR are higher compression. You can still boost it but not a smuch. CTR cams as in for the head. This is a typical build for the b16 just go get some more hp out of it and not spend much money. The pistons are form a b16b a type R motor. You can also use a CTR or ITR intake manifold as well. Pretty this is a budget mild build.

You don't have to bore out the block but if you want to you can but make sure to get OS CTR pistons. usually they are .25 over.

Price?

Hey just work on stuff like intake manifold, Cams, throttle body, etc... there is no sense ripping apart the block and rebuilding it for future boost. If you have that kind of money just boost it now. You will be safe at mild boost with your stock bottom end even with a 10.4.1 JDM (which is what I have) Save for things like LSD, Clutch, turbo kit etc.. you can spend 1k for CTR internals then when you go to boost they will have too high compression. All motor at 2k ft and above doesnt make much sense (Someone posted that recently)

Guess I will go that route, what is the best first step to take IE the most HP for the $$ I currently have DC 4-1 Headers, CAI & exhaust. What should be my next setp IM, VAFC?! I want boost to be the last thing I do.

Thanks for the help guys I do appreciate it.

well, how much power do you want? I still believe in changing out the intake manifold and tb, which will help w/ or w/o boost. Its def. not the best value mod but if you plan to boost there is not much you can for the engine w/o ripping into it. if you're serious about power, consider getting your car tuned w/some software, much better than a vafc imo.

cams and most n/a mods wont make much power w/o raising compression. or, build some itb's

Don't bother doing mild na mods then boost. Just boost from the beginnning. You'll be a lot happier.
