View Full Version : Best sounding exhaust for SI? NO BUZZ or POPS
Anyone know what the apex N1 catback sounds like on the 99Si?
Looking for a good cat-back with no annoying buzz or poping sounds for my new Si...

i have an apex-N1, it's pretty loud without the silencer on, but if you keep the silencer on you should be cool, unless the cop doesn't hear it and just looks at it and busts you for some bullsh*t

I have an N1, I love the way it sounds. But with the supercharger, the Kamakazi, and the test pipe on the car it is really loud. But if you are NA it is a great souning exhasut IMO. Rico's sounds nice.

Smoothest one I think would be the DC Sports TCS, but I'm getting the N1 as well, very quite with the sliencer in it.

I have the N1, its not on an si but I have one complaint it vibrates the interior of the car, the steering wheel even shakes, but other than that it sounds pretty good. And the way it hangs even with my car as low as it is, i haven't scraped it yet
Brian whats up hows the civic runnin? I just got an si need to find an exhaust for it.
To yous with the N1 cat-backs on your si does it pop or buzz at in vtec?

mine did not vibrate at all on my si until I got my test pipe on after the S/C. And it did not pop or sound buzzy. IT was kinda deep and is pretty loud without the silencer in.

My little brother has an N1 on his 94 Civic w/ B16 swap. It wasn't terribly loud even without the silencer, no pops or buzzing. Sounded pretty good to me...I'm putting an N1 on my Teg next week, but that won't be a good comparison for you :)

dont get OBX catback, it's smooth at low RPM, but then at high RPM (4k RPM) it starts to buzz.

If you wantg a really quiet exhaust, the Mugen twin loop is about as quiet as stock. It's also expensive though...

Apexi WS is a very quiet exhaust. Thats what I'm getting for my car.
I wish I could afford Mugen though

could someone describe the Apexi N1. Like at cruising speed, is it hard to talk? do you have to turn up your music way loud? will it get annoying on long trips? how loud is it at around (2500 to 3500 rpm) then when you open it up like (5000 to 7000 rpm).?
looking at buying the apexi cat-back, but i don't want to get it if it will annoy me enough to were i have to go buy a new quieter exhaust.
thanks
