Some pics from an event my brother went to, he's in Group C in the gunmetal CRX. The car was very fast, handled well, and was well hated by the BMW crowd (his other car is an E36 M3, but that's just the daily driver, the CRX is his track car). Also some cool pics of new Mustang GT cop cars on the Paddock pics page. I got a camera mount for my Civic, should get some in-car videos of Rockingham in a few weeks.

Leading some BMW's around the track, looks like his hood is not latched

Cop putting numbers on his Mustang so he can run it

All ready to hit the track, probably the only legal way to outrun a cop car

Why we don't drive our M3's on the track, if this were a CRX, those guys could probably just pick it up and carry it back to the pavement

It's in the Group C pics, he's in most of the Group C picture groups. He was pretty much the turd in the punchbowl there, so they weren't showcasing him.

Were they testing those things or was it just for fun?

Hopefully it's driver training for the cops, help them learn to drive at high speeds without crashing. It would make sense to me to get them to a HPDE as often as possible.

Was the hood latched or does it just appear that way?

I like the color of the CRX.

It's Harley Davidson Gunmetal Grey Metallic, and it looks like crap up close, all peeling and bubbled up, the car is a bondo-mobile. He's probably going to get it repainted shortly, but it's just a track beater, so no rush. The color is nice though.

Was the hood latched or does it just appear that way?

I sent him an e-mail about that, in the one picture it looks like it's unlatched, and in another pic it has hood pins. I'm guessing he had problems with the latch and installed some hood pins that weekend to secure it.

It's a BMW event, they were probably offended that they had to share the same track as a Honda in the first place, and doubly offended that it was faster than their BMW's.

What's the setup on the rex? And does each car have an instructor inside or what?
Sucks for this guy, classic pic though:

The rex has a built 200WHP GSR swap in it with a JDM CTR tranny, GC/Koni suspension, ES bushings, Azenis's, relocated battery, GSR brakes, and a mostly stripped interior. It runs about a 12.7 in the 1/4 and handles well.

Each car has an instructor and you get 6-7 30-minute sessions over the course of the weekend with some classroom instruction. Usually the instructor lets you solo the last couple of sessions, and you usually get the opportunity to ride with an instructor for a couple of sessions to see how it's supposed to be done.

A weekend usually costs $250-$300.

And pics like the Z in the tire wall are why we drive cheap-ass Civics. Can you imagine a new M3 with crumpled fenders in the tire wall?
