i am putting a obd1 b16 into my 97 civic cx. what is the best ecu to use to run it. obd1. also what other ecu's will work

The best is the one that was made for it. You can use a P28 or a P72.

P30 is the OBDI b16 ecu (available in the delsol-VTEC model).

p72 is gsr set up for 1.8L and the secondary Butterflies.
