View Full Version : High flow cats?

I'm debating over what kind of cat to get when I do my exhaust in a couple weeks. Basically, my dilema is between legal cats and non-legal cats. Is there really a risk out here with running non-legal "race" cats or test pipes? I don't want to fork out a lot of cash for a higher flowing legal cat. For now this is my daily driver car too, until I can nut up for a beater. Thanks for any help...

Steve and I are both running test pipes on our SI's. I would go that route instead of spending the cash on a hi flow.

Go with the race pipe then when emmissin time comes just swap back in the stock cat, pass and then go back to the race pipe.

That was my plan, but I was afraid if I got pulled over (w/ the race cat) I would get slapped with a big ass fine. It doesn't seem to be as big of a deal as I thought. Thanks for the help, when I get back from Phoenix I'll have my new stuff all on :PIMP:

The cops here don't tend to do inspections when they pull you over. Even if they did i'm not sure that they would even know what to look for :D

Just remember man, if you are going to go to the strip, you need to switch them out because most strips wont let you drag with "illegal" pipes
