View Full Version : Vtec "Killer" Cams

I dont understand the Toda vtec killer cams. They say the remove your vtec but why would anyone want to do that? Im sure the power the cams make, make up for it but i figured there might be a more detailed explanation.

I could be wrong, but from what I understand, vtec killer cams are always on the more aggressive cam profile and eliminate low cam. Therefore there is no variable cam timing or vtec. Its just always on high cam.

What they really need to do is make VTEC cams where both profiles are meant for performance, but optimised for different RPMs... then there would be a point in having VTEC in a race-only car, rather than this crap where one profile is econo and the other is performance. Of course, the new iVTEC is an improvement.

If implemented properly, you could really get around a lot of the compromises when selecting cam profiles.
