Need Help with alarm system

I have an avital alarm system, the other day I went somewhere parked my car, armed the system and left. When I got back before I disarmed it I noticed that my red l.e.d. was not blinking but on solid. I tried disarming the alarm and nothing happened. So I unlocked the car and opened the door and the alarm didnt go off. The light only goes out once I start the car. Then as soon as I turn the car off the light comes back on.

I also noticed that if I'm in the car with the ignition off and hit the arm button something clicks one and if I hit it again something clicks twice. So something is working. Could this be a fuse or a short somewhere?

It's might be some type of error in the alarm. Did you look in the manual to see what a solid light means?

I'll look through the manual when I get home and see what it says.

Solid light normally means its in valet mode...maybe you hit a combo of keys and set it that way? :)

What model Avital and what vehical?

I figured it out. I somehow hit the right combo of buttons to turn on valet mode. Looked in the manual and found out what that was to turn it off.
