hey does anyone know if PR3's are supposed to have a speed cut around 110 to 115 mph? im assuming that im still using a pr3 because thats what it says on the ecu but since i got it from a guy that sold me a complete shit block one time i can't be too sure. the reason i ask is because im hitting a total cut in power consistantly at around 115mph i thought the first few times it happened it was my pipes falling off but they never did. i want to make sure its a speed cut before i get a speed cut eliminator. its really pissing me off because im getting speed cut before i get through the traps. since the cut takes away all power i end up rolling through the traps at around 112 instead of 115 or higher. not so good for my times :-/ lemmi know if anyone has the same problem or knows anything about th pr3 ecu. thanks

AFAIK most JDM ecus have a ~120 speed limiter.

The HONDATA Product Catalog

Stage-1 is the simplest variation. A stage-1 HONDATA PGM-Fi chip contains the exact stock codes and data but with the logic to enforce the standard 180kph speed limiter bypassed. Thus a HONDATA equipped EF8 will work exactly like the stock car but will be able to accelerate beyond 180kph. An additional feature is that the check engine light will flash at 7600rpm and serves as a shift-light. Finally, the rev-cut which is around 8100rpm stock is moved slightly higher to 8500rpm.

180.00 = 111.85

It looks like they both have the same stock limit. I'm not 100% sure, but that is what it looks like from my reading.

180km or ~112mph speed cut is regular on the JDM ecu's, at least the OBD-0 ones, I had both PR3 and PW0 and they both cut right at 112mph, super ghey if you ask me.

yep i used the greddy speed limiter cut controler and problem solved. my gears probably wont let me go a whole hell of a lot faster but i wont be hitting speed cut on the track anymore :)
