i have a 00 si stock block stock head stock internals everything with a bolt on turbo kit. i run 8psi tops and was wondering which mods to perform first so i can gradually run more boost?
i was wondering about the stroker kits too since its a b16.
so i was thinkin pistons rods and sleeving.
if anyone could help me out with a good way to start the build i would appreciate it. im also wonderin which cams and cam gears to go with.
i heard the gsr cams are a good way to go with turbo.
im plannin on goin with msd ignition too wonderin if anyone has some feedback on their prod. dis 4.
what are some good shops to get work done at too. i want to do as much as i can myself but like for block work and head work?

how much power do you want? whats your fuel management set-up? how large is your exhaust? whats the hp rating on your ic? what kind of "bolt on" turbo kit? soo many things you're leaving out

well id be happy with around 400whp with the t3t4 turbo right now. i have hondata s200. and an external fuel pump injecting through 450cc dsm injectors. exhaust is greddy 2.5". - i think. the intercooler came with the drag 3 kit.
any help or advice would be appreciated.

im sure you'll need new internals for 400hp, b16 cams will do. A good turbo manifold will increase hp, so will a good intake manifold and larger tb. There are many ppl on here that know much more than me, lets hope they chime in

You're on the right track, I had a B16A2 ('99 Si stock motor) that I made over 400 WHP daily with.
No need to stroke it for 400, just turn up the boost.
I had mine sleeved and built with forged internals, Eagle rods and Wiseco 8.5:1 pistons
stock cams and gears are fine, you won't want to change the cam timing for a turbo setup
MSD cap, SCI, and blaster external coil should be fine, I think the DIS4 is for multichannel ignition
Check with Honda Ghandi about the block and head work, he's done good stuff for me for a reasonable price, plus he's very easy to work with. He will also know all the detail stuff (like ARP head and main cap studs) that may be important for keeping the motor together.
While you have the motor out, get a LSD in the transmission. If you can drop the transmission off somewhere with a direct-replacement LSD like a Quaife, it should cost you <$100 for the labor.
There's a bunch of other things too, like a clutch, new motor mounts, 3" exhaust, etc, but it's late and I'm tired, so good luck with it.

First off for 400
you wont need to sleeve your block as long as you get a conservative tuner to do the job (i.e. Servion on the board is awesome), Pistons and rods wouldnt be a bad idea if your looking for 400 then I suggest CP pistons and eagle rods if you wont to spend more on rods look into manley's
cams I would get Type R or GSR w/cams gears
Ignition leave it stock maybe some wires and coil Servion just made 614 on stock igniton w/ a blaster coil
youll probally want some bigger injectors step-up to 550's to tell you the truth you can go as big as you want just incase youdecide in the future to upgrade the whole turbo setup, you ptrobaly have the in-line pump that comes w/ the drag kit youmight want to go ahead and also get a Walbro 255hp intank pump
next what t3/4 turbo you got this right here could be your limiting factor
I aggre with the headstuds and if you want to rev it out look into some supertech springs and retainers
You wont necissarily need an lsd I pulled 1.7's 60's last year with a stock gsr diff. and some 24.5 slicks

for 400 hp, you'll definitely need to upgrade your internals. pistons/rings, get it sleeved or block guard. Upgrade clutch, fuel injectors, f. pump...fuel management is key. Tuning is key. colder plugs, wires couldn't hurt. larger d.p. and exhaust. good manifold. head studs and u should be good for 400.

I agree with the majority except for the sleeves and block guard. Plenty of power can be made w/o sleeves (look at Evans-tuning.com 600+ on stock sleeves and in my opinion block guards are garbage if not installed properly will do more damage than good(what little protection these offer in the first place isnt worth it) As far as engine managment deffinitly look into Neptune best bang for the buck by far..

sounds bout right. im definitely gonna do the pistons/rings and rods and most likely sleeves. -- ill research it more and see if i can be satisfied with the power without them... and itll save a sh!tlo@d of money! better safe than blowin ur shit up though.
ive already got a act stage 3 clutch installed so thats all good. Its ALOT different compared to when i drove my friends stock h22a prelude the other day!! ( stock clutch).
im definitely gonna install the intank walbro 255lph... do u HAVE to drop the gastank to install? they say it only takes less than an hour though to install. i gotta get a fpr when i install the walbro too. yea the external fuel pump is damn noisy and annoying. i dont reccomend it. i guess it does the tric k though.
alot of people seem content with their stock ignition surprisingly. im lookin into the msd prod. and can get good deals on a msd 6a ignition box. wondering if its worth it. also with the coils-- is the "blaster ss " any good? blaster 2?
any reccomendations on sp. pl. wires? thanks 4 all the fdbck.

Bad tuning = broken: sleeves, blocks, pistons
Good tuning = oem parts still going
I do not think the oem pistons and rods will hold 400whp (it is possible), other that that it is all in your tuners hands. People that KNOW how to tune have been getting 500WHP plus on oem sleeves for many years. People who think sleeves are gonna save bad tuning, think again. I would rather have a oem sleeve that was molded in my block than an aftermarket one that had to have my block cut to fit, then was smacked, hammered, pressed in, any day of the week. I have owned sleeved blocks and when the place that did them says to run that $8.00 block seal crap in them or they won't warranty it it makes you think a little bit.
The walbro intank is easy to install. Unhook your battery, pop up your back seat, unbolt a few bolts bam. Google for a tutorial on it.. I'm too lazy to find it right now.
And check the for sale section.. there's an MSD 6AL for sale right now for a good price.. about 1/2 what it's worth.
