I just noticed i've got some green fluid leaking from the bottom of my tranny. it looks like radiator fluid, but coming from the tranny?
what could this be? and is it bad enough to get checked out?
thx
Are you sure it isn't just leaking somewhere and dripping off the tranny? There are lots of inlets and outlets for coolant on the motor.
Best way to find a leak is to wipe everything off and check it a lot to trace it back up to a leaky point. Coolant will be harder since it is thin but it should still be a little wet.
The only thing in the tranny should be tranny fluid which is not normally green. :)

Well the upper radiator hose goes right over where it appears to be dripping down from, but its not coming out where it hooks up to the engine, bc it would go down the other side of the tranny. The hose istelf feels fine except for a small grime build up on the bottom. I tried to get some of that off, and it doesn't look green, so i dont think theres a leak in the hose itself.

Start the car, let it warm up, open the hood and see where it is spraying out from. If it's not spraying out you should still be able to see a lot of fluid.

alright, it's definitely a minor leak bc i had to go and floor it a bunch to get anything out, and by the time i parked it it was done leaking. Its a ~3/4 inch diameter black tube that hooks up on the engine block, and on some plastic looking thing back by the firewall. odd. Should i try putting on come duct tape muffler tape etc.? or go get it replaced(if i do this, i'm guessing they'd have to drain and refill?)

Thats just the heater hose wierd I had to replace mine yesturday for the same excat reason. It will get worse if you dont replace do not stick any type of tape on there thats a waste of time. You can buy hose from any part store just make sure it has the same inlet. only takes 5min to replace, yes you will have refill your radiator I had to. Just be sure to remove the radiator cap. then pull the hose not much will come out but enough for you to refill the radiator.
