I'm going to buy a b16A1 for my 94 civic, will a 95 usdm ecu work with that or will I have to get a b16a2 to make it work. Wiring anyone know how much it costs to wire up a motor?

The ecu will work fine. The redline will probably be a little lower than you will like, but work with what you got. The wiring for that job should be fairly easy. You only need a couple of additional wires, vtec solediod, knock sensor, and not sure what else.

if you are using a b16a1, 1st gen b16a motor you won't be able to use the injectors or distributor that comes with it, you need obd1 replacements.
besides that you'll be fine.

1st gen motors require a little more work to swap in.

Is the b16a1 the 99 Si motor? or the jdm 1st gen? I though all jdm b16's were stamped (b16a)

Anyways the ecu should be fine since you have the obd1 plugs.

The ony actual B16a1 that I have seen is in a crx/civic VTi over here in europe. As far as I know the 99-00 Si came with a B16a2 and the del Sol that I had was a B16a3. All of the JDM b16 motors that I have seen are stamped B16A FWIW...

I have the option of getting a JDM B16A1 or a USDM B16A2, I'm not sure what to do about the distributor. Should I try to get the head from a USDM B16A2 and the distributor? What motor will be cheaper to install?

I would get the USDM motor if it is close to the same price. It sounds like you would be getting a first gen B16 from japan, this would cost more to install because you would have to buy a distributor and maybe some sensors. If you get the USDM one, it should be compatible if it is out of a del Sol.

The USDM is $500 and it doesnt have a vavle cover(someone stole it but not the motor, my friend is lucky. How hard is it to wire it up? is there anyone here that can wire it in to my 94 civic in a few months?
