Americans Kick Ass

I've long held that the reason America prospers to the extent that it does and that Americans have such a ridiculously high standard of living is because of the productivity of our citizens. Americans are far more productive than the citizens of any other developed nation. Personally I believe it is because we live in a relatively capitalist society, in which productivity is directly rewarded with $, as opposed to a more socialist society where the connection between productivity and $ is more tenuous. As I was preparing a RFP response at work, I came across a summary of my company's global operations that I think really tells the tale well. Here are our global revenue and personnel numbers by region (I added the $ per person column):

Heh... in light of Americans kicking ass... I just got this joke in an email from my dad today:

A Pakistani arrives in New York City all excited, he stops the
first person he meets. "Good day, Mr. American, thank you to
accept me in your nice country, and..."

The person interrupts and says: "I no Amelican, I Chinese."

The Pakistani continues on his way and meets another passer-by.
